Running well in defeat in a number of starts since May but those races have yet to produce any subsequent winners from 22 runners. May have to settle for place money.

One from 25 Flat starts on turf, the Tough As Nails gelding has been far from disgraced in a number of starts since May. Now racing 6lb below last winning mark and not easily dismissed here.

Winner of five of his 31 Flat starts on turf the Captain Rio gelding now races 25lb lower than his last winning mark. Difficult to see where improvement is coming from.

Losing run now stands at 12 but the mare looks on a dangerous mark right now 7lb lower than her last win at the Curragh in August. Holds strong place claims with conditions to suit.

C&D winner when landing a 15-runner handicap in August off a 5lb lower mark, leading from stall eight, keeping on strongly under pressure. Capable of a big run if ready following a break.

Eight-race maiden, without success in five Flat starts on turf. Has improved with every run this term finishing second of 15 beaten a neck at Tipperary last month. Capable of a big run based on recent displays.

Bahamian Bounty gelding who got off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking on the Flat when landing a Musselburgh 5f handicap in May off a 6lb lower mark. Beaten since and may need a couple to falter.

Finished her race off well on her most recent start at Sligo last month over 6f to finish third of 14 beaten ½L. Races 2lb lower than her winning mark over two years ago and drop in trip may not suit.

Last win for the Requinto mare came over three years ago and she now races 33lb below last winning mark. Clearly regressing and hard to fancy in this contest.

Hit the frame for trainer Amy Murphy on a number of occasions but has failed to get anywhere near to that kind of form in four turf starts for current connections. Plenty more needed in this contest.

Nothing of note yet in six starts including four Flat starts on turf. Down the field on return to action when last seen in April and overall form does not warrant support.

First Reserve: Losing run now stands at 22 but the Bahamian Bounty gelding ran well to chase home Blankiedoodie here on Wednesday. Worth a check in the market if making the line up.

Verdict

This may come down to a couple of C&D winners with the time off the track possibly putting paid to the chances of the Ado McGuinness-trained, Pillar as the Rock Of Gibraltar gelding may have to give way to the winner of this contest 12 months ago, SWEETEST TABOO. The Willie McCreery-trained eight-year-old won on her most recent start at Tipperary last month and can get the better of the likes of Ty Rock Brandy, Wild Bob Cat and the Denis Hogan-trained, Gopsies Daughter.
