Hasn't won in over a year and has largely struggled since, including when a well-held sixth in 1m Leicester handicap on latest start. Only dropped 1lb for that effort and plenty to prove now off top weight.
Only finished fourth in this contest last year but looked to show some sparks of his old form when third of 19 at York (7f, soft) last time out. Raised 1lb in the handicap and no reason why he can't run a solid race.
Consistent horse who looked to be revitalised by first-time headgear to win 7f Goodwood handicap in some style last month. 8lb rise looks fair and looks to have the edge over his rivals with the visor retained. Leading contender.
Looks to be coming back to form this season, most recently when creditable fourth of 11 at Newmarket (6f, good) on latest start. Leniently dropped 1lb for that effort and the longer trip can only be a positive. One to consider.
Backed up potential from first three starts when bolting up in 7f Salisbury maiden when last seen. Remains unexposed on handicap debut but must contend with 301-day absence. Entitled to respect.
C&D handicap winner last season as a juvenile and has been running well without scoring, including when a close third in 7f Newmarket handicap (good) last month. Creeping his way up the handicap but can't be ignored.
Forecasts
Sir Busker (9/4), Majestic Mac (9/4), Revich (9/2), Luis Vaz De Torres (8/1), Al Barg (8/1), Headland (8/1)
A case can be made for many horses in this race, but the progression of SIR BUSKER this season gives him leading claims. The visor seems to have irked out the progression his trainer would have wanted to find and he should be able to hold his own in this company. Revich has taken time to come to himself since his Chester success last season but is likely to perform with credit, while Magestic Mac could be a dark horse off bottom weight.
- Sir Busker
- Revich
- Majestic Mac
