Son of a precocious sire who finished second in the Dewhurst stakes as a two-year-old out of a dam who won four of her 18 starts on the track. Yard struggles with juveniles, especially on their debuts, so best watched.
Not disgraced on debut when fourth of nine in Salisbury novice contest (6f, soft) in early June and looked to be crying for a step up in trip that day. Could be vulnerable to classier rivals this time but worth a betting check.

Indian Creak14

5/1
Thrice-raced maiden who has improved slightly with each run, including when third in 6f Lingfield novice race (standard) last month. Was hampered that day and would've been closer with more luck. Not to be discounted.

9/2
Homebred son of Bated Breath, whose progeny seem to excel between 7f-1m out of an unraced mare. Powerful yard usually do well with two-year-olds so will be notable if there is market support.

Ran better than the finishing position suggested when 3l eighth of 10 at Kempton (6f, standard) on his second career start. Entitled to improve on that again but is the stable's second choice on jockey bookings.
5,000 gns yearling purchase who is out of 1m-winning dam and daughter of a champion juvenile. Pedigree suggests she's likely to get further in time but is the first choice of the stable jockey for the yard. Highly respected on debut.

Improved from debut to finish 1/2l second in Goodwood maiden (6f, soft) and was doing all the best work at the finish again. Likely to thrive on step up in trip and is the one to beat.

6/1
Daughter of 2013 Derby winner who performed well to finish second of 12 at Lingfield (7f, good) on career debut. Yard are formidable with juveniles (18% strike rate) and would be dangerous to ignore.

Forecasts

Diva Kareem (2/1), Lawaa (9/2), Chairlift Chat (9/2), Indian Creak (5/1), Mrs Dukesbury (6/1), Buy Nice Not Twice (9/1), Winnetka (14/1), Bad Company (50/1), Austin Taetious (66/1)

Verdict

In what looks to be an above-standard renewal of these type of races, the experienced DIVA KAREEM looks to have the edge over her rivals. Her pedigree suggests that she is open to progression over these trips and has handled undulating courses in her first two starts. Indian Creak was unlucky to not finish closer than he did last time and is a major player if he can keep out of trouble, while Mrs Dukesbury and Lawaa are entitled to respect coming from yards who excel with juveniles.
  1. Diva Kareem

  3. Mrs Dukesbury
