20/1
£2,500 yearling; sixth foal; half-sister to two winners, including the bumper/2m hurdle winner Julia Too; hooded for debut.

Horse silk
Cushy Lady29
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Benjamin Poste| T: A Wintle
150/1
Well beaten on both previous starts (Bangor and Southwell); can't be considered on the basis of that evidence.
3
Horse silk
Jinsha
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: T Scudamore| T: Peter Fahey
7/4
€40,000 3yo; second foal from the bumper/2m-2m5f hurdle/chase winner Golden Sunbird; County Kildare trainer Peter Fahey's first ever Worcester runner (also due to saddle Bathiva at Stratford on Tuesday).
4
Horse silk
14/1
Tenth foal; half-sister to the bumper/2m6f hurdle winner Kolaphos and the 2m hurdle winner Mead Vale; could find at least a couple of the others stronger.
5
Horse silk
100/1
Dam was a maiden pointer; 33/1 when finishing ninth of ten on debut at Bangor, weakened quickly once headed from the four furlong pole.
£14,000 3yo; eighth foal; closely related to the 2m5f/3m3f hurdle winner Katy Royal; noteworthy that stable jockey Brian Hughes doesn't take the mount.
7
Horse silk
10/1
Second foal from a moderate dam (unplaced between 5f and 1m4f) who was a half-sister to the 2m-2m3f hurdle winner Princess Moodyshoe; others readily preferred.
8
Horse silk
20/1
Point placed; only modest form in bumpers to date and would've already made her hurdles debut at Newton Abbot but for a late abandonment. Plan 'B' is for a final spin in a weak looking bumper.
Twice a runner-up in 2m1½f Fontwell bumpers (races which were spread over a nine-month period); headed over a furlong from home when beaten 3L by Book Of Intrigue three weeks ago.
10
Horse silk
150/1
Fight Club filly; always in the rear on Newbury debut (100/1) when finishing 11th of 13 to Getariver; progress possible.

Horse silk
Malina Ocarina49

7/2
Fair pedigree, dam was an unraced half-sister to the bumper/useful 2m4f-2m7f hurdle/chase winner Violin Davis; 33/1 when finishing a keeping on third (beaten 5¼L) to The Swagman at Newton Abbot (2m1f, good) in May.
Jeremy filly; €5,500 3yo; fourth foal; half-sister to the point winner Haven't Time; dam was an unraced half-sister to the 2m7f-3m3f hurdle winner Beer Goggles; hooded for debut.
13
Horse silk
She's Blorenge50
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: R P McLernon| T: M ScudamoreWS
50/1
Half-sister to three winners, including the 1m4f-2m AW scorer Byronegetonefree; weakened tamely when finishing last of seven at Ffos Las (2m, good) in May; has had wind surgery since.

Forecasts

Jinsha (7/4), Malina Ocarina (7/2), Winter Holiday (4/1), Perfectly Honest (17/2), Squaw Vallee (10/1), Nella Fantasy (14/1), Candy Lou (20/1), Vinnie's Icon (20/1), She's Blorenge (50/1), Onestepatatime (100/1), No Frontier (100/1), Atlantic Sunshine (150/1), Cushy Lady (150/1)

Verdict

A perfectly winnable mares' bumper. Of those with experience, the likes of Malina Ocarina and Winter Holiday have shown the most promise, with the former expected to benefit immeasurably for her Newton Abbot third to The Swagman. Perfectly Honest is an interesting newcomer for Donald McCain, although it is surprising that stable jockey Brian Hughes doesn't take the mount. Therefore, with a degree of confidence (could be further strengthened with sustained market support) the Irish-raider JINSHA gets the vote for the County Kildare-based handler Peter Fahey. Over the past five seasons, Fahey is 2-6 (33%) with his runners in GB bumpers.
  1. Jinsha
  2. Malina Ocarina
  3. Winter Holiday
