Registered a career-best effort when second by a neck at Lingfield over 7f latest (front two pulled clear). Neither 4lb rise nor extra 1f probably not being ideal enough to temper enthusiasm; the one to beat.

Won twice at Brighton as a juvenile and was second there off 70 on final start for Ed Walker. Shown very little since for current yard but is very well handicapped on previous form. Must bounce back.

Having his 50th career start and appears better on AW. Only turf win came over C&D though and failed by just half a length when second here last time off 2lb lower mark. Not without a chance if in similar mood.

Battled to first career success over this trip at Lingfield latest and rise of 3lb not enough to rule her out now back on turf in this pretty ordinary contest.

Took a fall at this venue penultimately and never involved latest here when 12th of 14. Handicap within range but recent misfortunes may be playing on her mind.

Still a maiden but second off 1lb lower and fourth off 1lb higher the last twice, both over C&D show that he is now well handicapped to go close. Draw is problematic but can't be discounted.

Went the closest he has since solitary win 24 races ago at Bath last time out when beaten a short head over this trip. Has to be considered now although has gone well fresh before then flopped next.

Left behind two pretty dismal efforts when second of 14 at Brighton over this trip last time out prompting a 1lb rise. Won off mark just 1lb lower as recently as October so certainly one of the more capable sorts here.

12-race maiden but was good second on debut for this yard in April before failing to back that up soon after. More questions than answers at this stage.

Fast-ground, fast-run 1m is ideal as he showed when beating King Oswald over C&D latest. Upped 4lb for that but with a big field again in his favour he should be running on into the picture.

Won twice at Southwell on fibresand but other AW efforts less than stellar so doubts ahead of her belated turf debut as to how she will handle the surface.

Unsighted in a bumper and three novice Flat races beaten at least 16L in them. Low-grade and low mark to start but just not seen enough to take the risk.

Six-race maiden beaten 24L, 13L and latest 65L in handicaps so far. Handicap drop and first-time blinkers and tongue-tie all offer some hope but hugely risky proposition.

Badly out of sorts at present having beaten just six rivals in his last five races combined. Impossible to recommend now.

Verdict

Having run so well latest the still relatively lightly-raced MAGICAL RIDE makes plenty of appeal to go one better and gain his first career success in this very winnable contest. Recent C&D winner Sir Jamie and the horse he beat that day King Oswald are both expected to also make bold bids.
