Started the season reasonably well when third in a decent event at Newbury but has lost his way since with poor efforts at Chester and Goodwood. Stable not particularly firing at present and others preferred.

Has been steadily improving all season culminating in an eight length win last time out at Ripon. More to do here against some more experienced rivals but entitled to improve and holds every chance.

Has been slow to come to hand but has landed AW victories at Chelmsford and Newcastle on the way. Showed he handles fast ground on turf when third over 1m3f at Newbury last time out. Capable of improving again. Leading contender.

38-12OR: 85C

Improving all of last season culminating in two wins here at Salisbury over a mile and when upped in trip at Wolverhampton. Showed he had trained on when running a nice race at Sandown last time out. More needed but open to improvement.

Has a very progressive profile and ran a better race in defeat at Newmarket over a mile than when scoring over 1m2f at Pontefract previously. Stable in form and good record at this track. One for the shortlist stepping up in trip.

Fine effort last time out at Carlisle to win very easily by over three lengths in a good time. Certainly open to improvement and rates one of the leading contenders stepping up slightly in trip for in-form stable.

Plenty to like about the manner of his maiden win at Newmarket last month. Will obviously find it harder on his handicap debut but still looks progressive and should run his race.

Struggled on his first two career starts but the penny finally dropped when second over this course and distance in April. Got off the mark last time out at Newbury and has excellent chance if progressing again.

Desert Icon (11/4), Great Example (4/1), Kiefer (9/2), Apparate (9/2), Buriram (7/1), Gantier (8/1), Divine Gift (20/1), Kaloor (22/1), Jersey Wonder (22/1)

GANTIER has plenty of experience now and comes here on the back of a nice performance at Newbury last month. Entitled to improve again, he is the choice in quite a tight race. Buriram has run two similar races this season, winning well last time out at Carlisle. He can improve and run the selection close while Desert Icon is most progressive and if he improves again then should be in the thick of the action.. Others to note are Apparate and Kiefer. A fascinating race is in store.
