Very lightly raced these days but landed his last two starts at Uttoxeter (May 18) and Aintree two weeks ago. Upped again but if in same vein of form as latest he surely goes close.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-9| J: T J O'Brien| T: Ian Williams| OR:  137

A winner at Ludlow (2m4f in December), he was just held over 2m4f at Worcester last month. Now tackles 3m which isn't entirely sure to suit although if he does last it out he should go close once more.

Aubusson49
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-3| J: Lizzie Kelly(3)| T: Mrs J Williams| OR:  131| D
6/1
Ended losing run of over three years at Ludlow (3m) two starts back. Second latest but beaten 13L and in what is a competitive looking contest others appeal more.

Bally Longfordt20
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-2| J: H Cobden| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  130| CD
9/1
Back to winning ways here latest over C&D although the value of that hard to gauge given only two finished. Second before that at Exeter further evidence that he is in good order if not necessarily well handicapped.

Dead Right43
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: Aidan Coleman| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  130
3/1
Beat a subsequent Grade One winner in a 2017 Punchestown bumper and won two of three over hurdles. Second to useful Pingshou here on chase debut last month and could be seriously well treated given unexposed nature.

Kings Monarch40
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: J E Moore| T: Kerry Lee| OR:  126| D
5/1
Landed back-to-back chasing handicaps earlier in the year taking a stride forward each time. Found the increased grade too competitive at Cheltenham and Aintree afterwards but not ruled out now lowered in class.
7

Forgot To Askt32
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: J J Burke| T: T R George| OR:  123| C
3/1
2m3½f course winner latest having fallen in first two chase races. Highly unexposed then and clearly of some ability but jumping remains a nagging doubt especially against seasoned chasers.
8

Gardiners Hillt25
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-3| J: S Bowen| T: D A Rees| OR:  117| BF| D
8/1
Consistent sort gained second win this year at Uttoxeter two starts back before finishing second at Stratford under a 7lb penalty which is what the handicapper subsequently raised him. This more competitive however.

Forecasts

Dead Right (3/1), Forgot To Ask (3/1), Kings Monarch (5/1), Aubusson (6/1), Minellacelebration (13/2), Gardiners Hill (8/1), Bally Longford (9/1), Psychedelic Rock (9/1)

Verdict

A really competitive contest this and none of the runners can be completely ruled out. The vote goes to the lightly-raced DEAD RIGHT whose record of 3-6 under rules and sound second on chase debut leave him still appearing one with a deal of untapped potential. Hat-trick seeking Minellacelebration doesn't race often these days but when he does he generally does so with great distinction. Although found out in higher grades Kings Monarch won twice earlier this year and should be a threat at this level.
  1. Bally Longford
  2. Minellacelebration
  3. Kings Monarch
