Best effort came at this track last year and has won a bumper at this track but overall level of form suggests he may struggle against some less exposed handicappers.
Had some useful bits of form last season including on this track. Struggled last time out at Cartmel but if he can put that run behind him then he has possibilities.
Well beaten on all three hurdles starts. Returns from long break but unlikely to be good enough here on the balance of his form. Step back in trip probably not ideal either.
Very hit and miss performer. Has run well at this track in the past and ran well in a maiden hurdle at Taunton on his penultimate start but not one to be trusted implicitly.
Much travelled hurdler. Fell on her debut for new connections two starts ago before disappointing last time out at Fontwell. Best form was many years ago and an unlikely winner.
Has shown improved form of late with fair efforts at Ffoss Las and Fakenham. Needs to build on those efforts to get competitive but an interesting contender and a look in the market is advised.
Will be fit from a spot of point-to-pointing (won last three over 3m). Placed on her last racecourse appearance over fences and has some fair hurdles form going back a long way. Interesting contender in race not full of quality.
Very consistent at this level who was rewarded for that quality when scoring at Exeter in April. Slightly improved efforts in defeat since at Warwick and over this course and distance. One to consider.
Failed to complete on last three racecourse appearances and previously had been well beaten in hurdle and bumper races. Not one to get too excited about.
Won two out of her last three starts at this track (once over course and distance). Fell in the race in between but clearly enjoys racing at this track and very much one to keep the right side of.
Hard to assess on recent form after just three hurdles efforts (all at this track). Not beaten too far on her latest start (3m1f) and a repeat of that would give her a chance despite her relative inexperience.
Ran well below par when tailed off last time over course and distance. Had generally been running some fair efforts previously and has been given some relief by the handicapper. Chance if putting last run behind him.
Showed his well being on his seasonal reappearance at Stratford earlier this month when not beaten far into fifth place (albeit in slowly run race). May appreciate this step back in trip and respected at this level.
Well beaten in all four hurdle races to date with only a distant fourth in a maiden hurdle at Leicester offering any chink of light. Best watched until proving he enjoys her racing.
Never been closer than 30 lengths behind any winner on any of his racecourse appearances over hurdles. That tells its own story. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Lapford Lad (7/2), Ardview Boy (9/2), Chuffy Chuffnell (6/1), Dora's Field (13/2), Mustaaqeem (8/1), Pokari (8/1), Throckley (12/1), Show Of Force (14/1), Vanderbilt (16/1), Realta Dawn (25/1), Candyman Can (33/1), Plenty Of Butty (40/1), Given Name (50/1), Flow With Eve (66/1), Russian's Legacy (80/1)
LAPFORD LAD enjoys racing at this track and if he can put in a clear round then he looks the one to beat. If Candyman Can can put a poor effort last time out behind him then he was the overall form to get competitive. The consistent Dora's Field is worth a closer look and her consistency should see her in the thick of the action on a track she clearly enjoys racing around.
- Lapford Lad
- Dora's Field
- Candyman Can
