Elusive Quality colt, cost €13,000 as a yearling. Bred for more of a stamina test than this and needs a big step forward from his Thirsk win earlier this month to play any part here.

Showed plenty of promise on debut at Ayr but failed to justify short-priced favouritism at Thirsk next time out. Step up in trip will suit given his pedigree but doesn't have the level of form required to mix it at this level.

Footstepsinthesand colt, cost €32,000 as a yearling. Very green in the preliminaries at Yarmouth but ran well to finish second. May do better over longer trips though.

Only narrowly denied on debut but beaten by that same rival next time in Listed class at the Curragh. More to come up in trip here but may be seen at his best over even further.

Frankel colt, brother to a juvenile winner (7f). Half-brother to Firmament and dam a Group 3 winner. runner-up on debut and while the winner didn't manage to frank the form earlier in the week, the fourth has won since. Should improve up in trip.

Gleneagles colt, dam a Group 3 winner over middle distances. Very impressive on Newbury (5f) debut, despite getting outpaced early, stayed on well to win in good style. Second and third have won since and this extra 2f should see him improve.

Lope De Vega colt, cost €900,000 as a yearling. Bolted up when winning at the Curragh (7f) on debut and yard's debutantes usually take a significant step forward from the run. Already proven at this trip and looks a live player here.

Sea The Moon colt, cost 35,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a sister to a 1m dirt winner. Bred for a bit further than this and a tough race to make a debut in but yard do well with their juveniles and interesting to see what the market makes of him.

Overcame greenness to win on debut and very impressive when winning at Epsom subsequently in what looks a decent piece of form. Every chance he will improve for the step up in trip here for a yard that do well with their juveniles.

Beaten favourite on debut at York but and still showed signs of greenness when winning a decent looking Wolverhampton novice race earlier this month. May have more to give up in trip.

Fourth in a decent conditions race at Newbury on debut but failed to justify odds-on favouritism in a Navan maiden next time. Could improve markedly for the step up in trip here given his pedigree, though down the order on jockey bookings.

Galileo colt, dam a Cheveley Park winner and half-sister to two sprinters. Stayed on well behind Lil Grey on debut and while no match for her, he ought to improve plenty for the run.

Had five starts already. Won two novice events but failed to justify favouritism at Beverley last time. More exposed than most and needs the step up in trip to spark some improvement.

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien appears to hold the key to this (a winner of two of the last three renewals of this) and LOPE Y FERNANDEZ couldn't have done any more than win his Curragh maiden in the manner that he did on debut. The yard's runners often come on plenty for their first outing so this expensive purchase could be hard to beat. Stablemate Year Of The Tiger ran well behind Lil Grey who performed okay here on Friday (sixth) and he's another who to consider just making his second start. Mohican Heights and Highland Chief are both each-way players who should appreciate the step up in trip.
