Won impressively on quick ground and a grade lower over this C&D on season reappearance but tailed off off 6lb higher over 1m4.5f next time. Didn't stay but also this slower surface will remain a query. Down 2lb but others preferred.

Progressed with each of two starts since debut. Finished runner-up twice before a winning turf debut on quick ground in maiden company at Musselburgh. Gets an attractive opening handicap mark and every chance if handling the ground.

Racing to a consistent level but has failed to progress after making all to score at Ascot on debut. Drop of 4lb makes him on a good mark and while this is a significant step up in trip, there's stamina on his dam's side. Likely contender.

Made a winning debut here over 7f in September but below that in two starts since, including when tailed off on reappearance. Much more needed off this first handicap mark.

Sole win from eight starts came when meeting some cut in the ground for the first time. Not far off that level over this trip on reappearance but tailed off over 1m4f subsequently. Needs to bounce back in first time cheekpieces.

Barring the one run on the fibresand he's shown promise in all three starts over this trip. Best effort came when a close fourth latest when not getting the clearest of runs on handicap debut and worth a try on softer ground off 1lb lower.

Has improved up to this trip with a second and win before a close third over 1m3.5f. So far seems to handle any surface and likely has more to offer back at this likely ideal distance. Up in class but should be competitive again.

Forecasts

Cape Victory (9/4), Highwaygrey (4/1), Dancin Boy (4/1), Flint Hill (9/2), Production (7/1), Itchingham Lofte (9/1), Ride The Monkey (28/1)

Verdict

A tight contest where Highwaygrey is proving reliable and suited by the step back in trip. Itchingham Lofte is likewise lightly raced and was a bit unlucky in a tight finish last time. Production is worth a try at this much stiffer test of stamina and is consistent. The ground is an unknown with CAPE VICTORY but he looks very progressive and he's been given a real chance off this mark of making a winning handicap debut.
  1. Cape Victory
  2. Production
  3. Itchingham Lofte
