Ideally suited to a fast 5f and blinkers have brought about a transformation. Valid excuses for his last two defeats and a danger to all back at this level if conditions remain dry.
Has been in and out this year and the promise of his penultimate run contrasts with his latest effort. Down to his last winning mark, but another for the yard who is struggling to recapture his 2018 form.
Both victories for Mark Johnston came at 6f as a juvenile and he raced predominantly over 7f last year. New yard excel with sprinters but this sharp 5f may be an insufficient test.
Career record stands at 2-31 and he has made the frame on 12 other occasions. Unlikely he can take this without finding more for pressure than has been the case previously..
Beat Suwaan at Musselburgh in April but his form has dipped alarmingly with each run since. Blinkers tried this time and he still has something to prove off his current mark.
Landed a Wolverhampton novice during the winter and the runner-up scored next time to earn a rating of 74. Looks well treated on that score and a drop in class/trip make him all the more attractive.
Sole success and best other efforts have come at Musselburgh. This looks a better race than he is used to and others are preferred.
Had nothing to race with at Thirsk when favourite to build on a promising effort on penultimate outing. However a 2-50 career record suggests it may be expensive to make excuses for him.
Overcame trouble in running to win a shade cosily at Musselburgh on her return. However, that was a moderate contest and she has struggled off her revised mark since.
Peaked in September last year when running Our Place In Loule to a short-head and then going to score at Musselburgh. Hard to fancy on what he's done since.
Veteran of 57 races who picked up her three career victories in a seven week spell last summer. Two were gained here over 6f and the combination of trip plus current form make her opposable.
Has shown a real liking for Newcastle and, although placed here in the past, he is handicapped on his AW form and is still out of the weights for this. Was reluctant to go to post last time and hard to be positive about his chances.
Made all to land a poor race at Catterick on quick ground last year over 6f. That form has not worked out well and she has barely figured since.

Shepherd's Purse (7/2), Vee Man Ten (9/2), Prestbury Park (5/1), Amazing Grazing (15/2), Burmese Blazer (8/1), Super Julius (10/1), Northern Society (12/1), Popping Corks (12/1), Suwaan (14/1), Our Place In Loule (20/1), Lexington Palm (25/1), Jeffrey Harris (28/1), Brendan (28/1), Jessie Allan (40/1)
Few of these can be relied upon to put their best foot forward but most can be dangerous on their day and that makes this a very hard race to call. Our Place In Loule is back in a grade where he excels and this fast 5f looks ideal. However, he may find the concession of weight to VEE MAN TEN beyond him as Ivan Furtado's charge looks nicely weighted judged on his AW novice win. Two runs on turf this term have been in much better races than this and he appeared not to stay 6f at Haydock last time. The selection has more scope than his rivals and market support would underpin confidence in his chances.
- Vee Man Ten
- Our Place In Loule
- Prestbury Park
