Gained deserved success for run of good efforts when beating 23 rivals in 6f handicap at The Curragh recently. 5lb rise is fair and has form from the past at this trip so merits respect.
Sole turf win from 18 attempts was off a 1lb higher mark a year ago but has struggled in two runs since a break and needs to bounce back.
Normally seen on the AW but her turf form commands respect and is back on the same mark as her Down Royal win at this trip a year ago. Interesting to see if any market interest.
Didn't run too badly when fourth having missed the break at Sligo on Tuesday over 6f and this trip will be more to her liking. One for the short list.
Dundalk winner in February. Not quite as good on turf but first time visor now tried and down from 1m where she does all her racing.
Multiple winner on the AW but still a maiden after 17 runs on turf and although he has the odd piece of form on this surface, needs to prove he is fully effective on it.
7f winner for Richard Hannon last summer but has shown very little for current yard since been cheaply sold and plenty to prove now.
Had a busy but productive time of it at Dundalk in the winter and not seen since February. Has form at the track and claims if she is ready to go after her break.
Below par effort at Gowran on Sunday on the back of a creditable second there last month. Still a maiden on turf and work to do to break her duck from the widest draw.
Two best runs have been at this trip and has few miles on the clock compared to many of these. One for the short lost under top claimer.
Showed first sign of ability at Dundalk on penultimate start but backward step back on turf last time though that was after a break. Others preferred.
Yet to trouble the judge in six attempts over variety of trips and not easy to make a case for.
Shock 25/1 winner of 7f handicap at Dundalk last autumn but hasn't built on that and turf form is poor. Hard to fancy from well out of the weights.
Forecasts
Little Clarinet (7/2), Alwarda (11/2), Goodnite Irina (8/1), Highly Approved (8/1), Tio Esteban (8/1), Silk Cravat (9/1), Masalai (10/1), Arbourfield (12/1), Victorious Secret (14/1), Eagle Reel (16/1), Come At Dawn (20/1), Popsicle (33/1), Tomwontlisten (33/1)
TIO ESTEBAN showed enough in two previous goes at this trips in handicaps and a repeat of his Cork second in April may be good enough here. Top weight Little Clarinet comes here in top form and rates the main threat with Highly Approved completing the short list after her decent effort at Sligo this week.
- Tio Esteban
- Little Clarinet
- Highly Approved
