His five wins have all come at 6f but having another attempt at the minimum trip here. Won twice on the AW earlier in the year but has to bounce back from disappointing effort at Beverley (5f) on last start where he was 14th of 15.
Has won 12 times and was rated as high as 80 last season. Produced her best effort of the season two starts back when fourth of 11 at Thirsk (5f). Remains off a very winnable mark but she needs to return to form.
Was a C&D winner last October off a 1lb lower mark than this. Produced his best run of the season so far last time at Ripon (5f, good) when second of 14, just 1l behind the winner. Leading contender.
Won over this trip on the AW at Wolverhampton at the back end of last year. Has since switched yards and has showed very little on his two starts since then. 0-13 on turf. Hard to make a case for.
Broke his maiden on his first start of the year at Newcastle (5f) on the AW back in February. Has been unable to build upon that and very little confidence can be taken from his return to turf last time at Beverley (5f) where he was last of 15.
Won over this C&D at the back end of last year and then started this campaign with success on the AW at Newcastle (6f). Produced his best run for a while last time at Newcastle (5f) on the Tapeta when fourth of 10. One to consider.
Won twice last season but still bidding for first success in 2019 after six attempts. Was third of 14 at Ripon (5f) two starts back. Needs to bounce back from his run at Hamilton over this trip. Each-way claims.
Experienced gelding who won over the slightly longer trip of 6f at this course last year. Improved on his third run of the season at Ripon (5f) last time where he was sixth of 14. Each-way claims if he continues in the right direction.
Has won just once in 21 starts so far. This is her first run since November when she was seventh of 12 at Newcastle (6f) on the AW. May need the run here today so others are preferred as she makes her return to turf.
Still a maiden after 11 races. She produced her best run so far on the AW at Southwell (5f) when she was third of nine. Has not followed that up as she has struggled in her last three starts. Visor on for first time. Hard to fancy here.
Won three times on turf earlier in her career but since then her best form has been on the AW. Made a return to action at Musselburgh (5f) last month where she had just one horse behind her in a 13 runner field. Not one for shortlist.
Has not looked like breaking her maiden in nine starts so far. She was ninth of 15 last time at Nottingham (6f) when going off at 66/1. It would be a surprise if she was in the mix here so one to avoid.
Has struggled to be competitive in her six starts so far, including on her latest outing where she was last of 13 at Musselburgh (5f) when 100/1. May have to wait for another opportunity to break her maiden.
Forecasts
Pearl Noir (7/2), Economic Crisis (6/1), Rockley Point (13/2), Spirit Of Zebedee (7/1), Racquet (7/1), Mitchum (10/1), Mightaswellsmile (12/1), Furni Factors (14/1), Tilsworth Rose (18/1), Bluella (20/1), Lady Joanna Vassa (20/1), Jorvik Prince (33/1), Princess Apollo (66/1)
PEARL NOIR is going in the right direction with every run this season and the former C&D winner should be backed to go one better than his second place finish at Ripon last time. Rockley Point also showed signs of his best form returning last time on the AW at Newcastle, while Racquet is more than good enough to be in the mix off this mark.
- Pearl Noir
- Rockley Point
- Racquet
