Yet to get off the mark in 22 races under Rules. Dropped back down to 5f on latest start at Newcastle on the AW where he finished last of 10 runners. Need to improve a lot to be in the mix here against some unexposed horses.
Was fifth of six at Southwell (1m7½f) over hurdles on his debut last month. He was then down the field at Thirsk (1m) when going off at 80/1. Would be a surprise if he was successful today.
Was fourth over this C&D last year but has been a long way down the field in her three starts since then where there has been no market confidence behind her. Big improvement needed to break her maiden.
Returned to action at Redcar (6f, good to firm) last month where she ran well at odds of 125/1 to finish fourth of 12 in what was her best attempt so far. More needed to be competitive so others are preferred.
Hit the frame at Thirsk (1m) last season when third of nine in a novice contest. Has shown very little on his two stars this season, including last time at Wetherby (1m) when seventh of 13. Cheekpieces on for first time. Open to improvement.
Havana Gold gelding who got off to a slow start on his debut at Beverley (7½f) earlier this month when going off at 28/1 so had to settle for sixth of eight runners. Likely to come on from his debut. One to watch.
Kodiac gelding who stayed on strongly on his debut at Beverley (7½f, good to soft) to finish sixth of 12 runners after running green in the early stages. Should do much better this time now he knows what it is all about. One to consider.
Dark Angel gelding who has been down the field on his two starts so far, including when eighth of 11 at Haydock (7f, soft) earlier this month. Much more needed but she is likely to improve with extra experience.
Was third of 10 at Ripon (1m) on debut 11 days ago where he came across a couple of useful horses. His chances weren't helped when he was hampered in the closing stages. Leading contender here to open his account.
Kodiac filly who has yet to threaten in her two starts, including last time at Catterick (5f) when she had just one rival behind her in a 11 runner contest. First outing since October. May need the run and more needed.
Forecasts
Morning Duel (10/11), Grab And Run (7/2), Bumbledom (6/1), Lucky Number (6/1), Cuba Ruba (14/1), Pearl's Calling (33/1), Mixed Up Miss (33/1), High Fort (50/1), Duba Plains (125/1), One For Brad (200/1)
This looks a brilliant opportunity for MORNING DUEL to break his maiden at the second attempt. It was a really promising debut at Ripon where he found trouble in running and finishing behind a couple of smart horses. Lucky Number and Grand And Run are both open to improvement and can be in the mix on their latest starts.
- Morning Duel
- Lucky Number
- Grab And Run
