Was second of 12 last time at Carlisle (1m1f) when beaten as the evens favourite. Still looking for first victory after four starts but has been in the frame on three of those occasions. Each-way claims here.
Won a 5f sprint as a novice at Salisbury. Since then he has not been able to follow it up. Was seventh of 10 at Sandown (1m, good to firm) on opening run of the campaign last month. Needs to improve to have opening success at this trip.
Form has improved since stepping up to 1m. Was second of ten at this trip at Newmarket last month, while more recently he was 2l behind the winner at Doncaster (1m) just 14 days ago. Each-way claims.
Remains a maiden after 11 races but his form this season suggests he isn't far away from opening success. Was second of 10 last time at Carlisle (1m, soft) where the winner has won again since. Conditions should suit. Leading contender.
Showed early promise on the AW early in his career, including when winning at Newcastle (7f). Has now had three runs on turf with his best showing being when second of nine at Musselburgh (1m1f). Needs to bounce back from latest run at Goodwood.
Won on his debut at Windsor (6f) as a two-year-old but has failed to build upon that. Has been a long way down the field on his two starts this season, including when last of 11 on latest run at Nottingham over 1m½f.
Was denied by just a neck last time at Leicester over 1m2f where he was close to recording his second success. Has gone up 3lb for latest outing but this trip should suit today and he will have no problems with conditions. Solid claims.
Still a maiden after four starts. Was second of seven at Redcar (1m) two runs back, while on last outing, he only had one horse behind him in an 11 runner contest over 1m2f at Leicester. Back down in trip which should help his chances.
Was successful at Brighton last month over the slightly shorter trip of 7f. Stepped up to 1m last time at Carlisle where he was unfortunate not to get a clear run in closing stages so had to settle for fourth of 10. Good chance here.
Showed some promise last season when second of 13 at Carlisle (6f) but since then has struggled in his four starts, including on latest at Ripon (1m) where he could only finish seventh of 10. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Storting (11/4), Ginger Fox (3/1), Lightning Attack (11/2), Barasti Dancer (6/1), Steeve (8/1), Silkstone (10/1), Dancingwithwolves (12/1), Golden Parade (16/1), Mustadun (16/1), Watchmyeverymove (22/1)
This looks like it could be a battle between Barasti Dance and LIGHTNING ATTACK for first place and preference is with the latter who finished second behind a nice horse at Carlisle last time. Silkstone was unlucky not to win last time out too and should be thereabouts at the finish again here.
- Lightning Attack
- Barasti Dancer
- Silkstone
