Goes on any ground and has run creditably all three starts so far this term. Still 3lb higher than last winning mark but should be thereabouts.

Campaigned solely on AW since joining current yard in October but has failed to score in numerous attempts despite going close a few times. Ability to handle soft ground unknown but jockey booking catches the eye.

Handles conditions and stays up to a mile so should be keeping on when others have hoisted the white flag. Not in best of form of late though so needs to stage something of a revival.

Failed by just a nose here over C&D last time and arguably will be better suited by the easy ground on this occasion. Races off same mark so has solid chance if in similar mood.

Just 2-40 starts and hasn't hit the target since summer 2016. Has run very poorly in three starts this season on the AW but might do better now back on turf. Others make more appeal on current form.

50-race maiden but ran one of his better races when beaten just a length in fourth here over C&D last time out. Handles soft ground and stays further but has long been on bookies Christmas card list.

Yet to reach a place in 13 starts and hard to see him figuring in the finish here despite his lowly weight. Looks to face a stiff task.

Forecasts

Tadaany (6/4), Cent Flying (7/2), Carlovian (6/1), Luzum (6/1), Spenny's Lass (13/2), The Gingerbreadman (8/1), Caledonian Gold (9/1), Always Amazing (12/1), Ambitious Icarus (12/1), John Joiner (14/1)

Verdict

LUZUM had fair handicap form in Irleand for Dermot Weld off much higher marks and looks nicely handicapped now having run well last time at Southwell. He handles soft ground and can defy top weight. Tadaany missed out here by a whisker last time and is a big danger if backing that up, and old Ambitious Icarus hinted at a revival when staying on over the minimum trip at Beverley recently. Cent Flying, Always Amazing and Spenny's Lass are not out of it either in an open contest.
  1. Luzum
  2. Ambitious Icarus
  3. Tadaany
