Back to last winning mark (2m5½f, Galway) but that largely due to less than compelling recent form. Handicap could look attractive if forecast showers turn heavy.

Won at Kilbeggan (2m) and on the Flat at Carlisle (1¾m) in August. Returned from a break latest with an excellent fourth of 24 over 2m5f here and if he stays the 3m trip first time he has genuine claims here.

2m4f Leopardstown maiden scorer pulled up in lone previous 3m try but looked well worth another go latest when a never nearer fourth at Kilbeggan (2m3½f). This mark does now look within range if he stays.

Twice won over 3m in the autumn at Cork and Galway, though lost his way a bit afterwards. Just 3lb above winning-mark latest he returned with a second of 10 at Tipperary over 2m4f and despite 3lb rise he has chances back at 3m.

C&D winner but highly inconsistent since that lone score and failed to complete in four of eight subsequent starts so has to be considered a risky proposition.

Won off this mark over fences last winter and also ran well subsequently in marathon Eider chase at Newcastle (4m1f). Pulled up last twice so break probably needed and interesting back over hurdles where he's 8lb lower rated.

Far from prolific (3-48) and four unplaced races to date in 2019 reason enough to look elsewhere for answers.

Four from 19 over fences but a number of below par runs last season indicate his mark may have caught up with him. Appears to need some relief from the handicapper.

Hit the crossbar three times late last season over 3m so Tipperary maiden win latest after a break was certainly deserved. Raised 3lb for the effort but seriously doubt that will hamper him and could now be ready to improve further.

Off the mark at the 10th time of asking over hurdles latest when landing a weak looking Cork maiden over this trip. Something of an unknown quantity in first handicap so market may guide.

Inconsistent maiden over hurdles ran well enough two starts back but flopped at Killarney subsequently. Others more compelling.

Yet to add to Galway maiden win last September but third of 11 at Limerick (3m) beaten just 4L latest suggested she isn't far off now handicap wise.

Placed just once in six starts to date and fact his heaviest defeat came in lone previous handicap reason enough to oppose here.

Landed a gamble over 2m4f at Tipperary two starts back and fancied to follow-up next under a penalty although disappointed when fifth (3m). Now 9lb higher than aforementioned win but suspect he can still go close here.

Forecasts

Stacks Mountain (4/1), Macgiloney (5/1), The Red Menace (13/2), Sweet Home Chicago (7/1), Falak (8/1), Presentingprincess (10/1), Cray (10/1), The Long Mile (12/1), Gagas Horse (12/1), Kilkishen (16/1), Awayinthewest (20/1), Tourboy (25/1), Poormans Hill (33/1), Jaime Sommers (50/1)

Verdict

Having belatedly gotten off the mark over 3m at Tipperary latest in impressive fashion it is worth chancing STACKS MOUNTAIN to follow up with his confidence likely boosted and indeed probably his fitness too given that came after a five-month break. Cray couldn't follow up his Tipperary win under a penalty latest but with a longer recuperation period since he could bounce back. The Red Menace and Falak both have claims if they appreciate the 3m distance.
