Remains a maiden after 11 starts but suited by step back up to this distance. Dropping down to an attractive mark although softer ground is a concern.

Showed improved from on handicap debut when stepping up to a half furlong shorter at Yarmouth. Stable in good form and this extra distance should only help. Should go well if handling these different conditions.

Without a win since scoring for Richard Hannon back in 2017. Tailed off and hasn't beaten a rival home in both starts for this yard who are struggling for winners at present.

Winner over hurdles back in March and narrowly denied over 1m6f when returning to the Flat before disappointing over a furlong further last time. Chances on best form but drop in trip a negative.

Six-race maiden whose best effort came when third in a poor C&D maiden. Well beaten back in handicap company last time and plenty more required.

Placed once from six starts and beaten 9¾L when finishing ninth in a 1m2f handicap on seasonal debut at Newcastle (AW). Up to this far for the first time and it needs to bring about improvement.

Remains a maiden following nine starts and form has gone backwards following some early promise. Well beaten over this C&D on season reappearance and remains hard to make a strong case for.

Four career wins have come over stiffer tests of stamina and without win since July 2016. Has proven inconsistent since and hardly reliable but chances if putting his best foot forwards.

Losing run stretches back to 2017 when all four wins came on the AW at Newcastle. Upped in distance and first-time blinkers added following five poor efforts for new yard.

Longstanding 36-race maiden who was second over 1m2f behind an easy winner on the AW at Chelmsford last month. That was a basement-level handicap and this will likely prove tougher.

Just the one win from 28 Flat starts came back in May 2016. Not disgraced on the AW at Newcastle this month but overall profile suggests he's likely to find a few too good again.

Forecast

Maroon Bells (7/4), Dew Pond (7/2), Home Before Dusk (7/2), Frame Rate (9/1), Foxrush Take Time (14/1), Point Of Honour (14/1), Midnight Warrior (16/1), Doon Star (33/1), Zahraani (33/1), Rock Warbler (33/1), Clayton Hall (50/1), About Glory (66/1)

Verdict

In a race lacking depth MAROON BELLS stands out as an improving filly who remains lightly-raced with plenty more to come. Home Before Dusk like the selection is unproven on this surface but he too should have progress to come and has been given a good chance by the handicapper. Dew Pond is likewise on a decent mark and holds place possibilities.
  1. Maroon Bells
  2. Home Before Dusk
  3. Dew Pond
