Frankel colt who cost 360,000gns as a yearling. Yard have already had a couple of exciting two-year-old newcomers win first time out already this season and in particular for these connections. Fascinating to see how he fares.

Only runner in the line-up with experience on his side. Finished fourth on debut (6f; good to firm) but beaten a fair way. Should improve a bit but vulnerable to a couple of these who could turn out to be future stars.

Tagula colt who made £18,000 as a yearling. Yards debutantes have been shaping as if in need of the experience and likely to be a similar story today.
Yard had a winning two-year-old newcomer earlier in the week and this Teofilo colt who cost 62,000gns as a yearling is a close relation to the yards Sir Ron Priestley. Exciting prospect.

Dandy Man colt who made 50,000gns as a foal. Related to the talented Gordon Lord Byron and is a big player for connections who do very well with two-year-olds.

Multiplex filly makes debut for yard who aren't readily associated with two-year-old debut winners. Should have a future, but a surprise were she to trouble some of the more likely candidates.

Verdict

The only runner in this race with experience (Mellad) doesn't set too daunting a standard and therefore it is best to focus on the newcomers, and in particular, the ones who come from leading stables. World Title is interesting for his trainer who is best known for his success with two year-olds, and his sire (Dandy Man) is having a productive season with his progeny. Subjectivist is another name to note, especially with the yard having a winning two-year-old debutant earlier this week. He may be bumping into one though, with ready preference for the Kevin Ryan-trained JUAN ELCANO who represents a yard that have been introducing some nice two-year-olds lately.
  1. Juan Elcano
  2. Subjectivist
  3. World Title
