Failed to build/capitalise on his Chester win from a reduced mark when not taking to testing conditions last time out at Carlisle (race may have come too soon). Makes another quick return to the track (in better conditions); not written off.
Losing run is starting to get to a worrying length now; dropped into selling grade last time and ran respectably without signalling a return to his best. Hood (not worn this season) returns in a bid to find the progress he needs.
Back up to this trip last time after an eight-week break he returns from an even longer absence this time around; still to win a race. Has run with credit but it looks as though the handicapper needs to release his grip for him to be successful.
Another one in this contest with a long losing run to his name (21 races to be precise) although he looked a little unlucky not to finish closer last time out at Lingfield (race has proved strong form). Has won on turf in France; nicely weighted.
One of two horses on the card with nine course wins to their names he yet to sparkle on his trips to the seaside this year. Three times he's been here this year and so far he looks regressive rather than progressive; can't be written off though.
Twice successful this year she goes well here (three course wins; none at this trip) but does have to bounce back from a poor AW run last time. Never won off a mark this high and hopes pinned on a return here to provide the necessary progress.
Well backed last time with today's top-class rider taking over in the saddle (had slipped to an attractive mark) over C&D. Turned in his best effort of the season to finish second; despite the losing run one to be interested in at this level.

Some fairly lengthy losing runs amongst the runners here with a chance taken on one of them in CHEBOURG breaking that run of defeats. He ran better than his sixth position last time at Lingfield when denied a clear run and remains on a handy mark with that race working out very well. Nothing would please the Brighton faithful more than to see a win for Roy Rocket but that looks unlikely on current form and of the others to have won here Fair Power and Tigerfish are much preferred. Banky’s Art shouldn’t be out of this facing better conditions than he did last time but another quick return is a worry.
