Eased 2lb after modest handicap debut over 1m2f at Nottingham in April. Showed promise in three previous starts but question mark over stamina to answer.

Fair third at Redcar penultimate start (1m2f) then seemingly ridden to try get the trip when keeping on over 1m4f last time. Chance if sitting a little closer to pace and yard in decent form at present.

Showed a good attitude when staying on grimly to score over this trip at Windsor last time but 6lb higher mark makes life tougher. In good heart though so should again be on the premises.

In ggod form of late, twice finishing second over 1m and 1m2f, then scoring over the latter trip last time here despite being very slowly away. Looks as though he'll stay and 5lb rise looks fair.

Yard going very well at present and stuck on well enough when runner-up over 1m1f at Hamilton last time. Extra two furlongs and more is a concern though as pedigree suggests stamina might be an issue.

Seven-race maiden who looks worth a first try at this trip having looked one paced when well held here behind Highway Grey over 1m2f last time. Market worth a check for any interest.

Forecasts

Highwaygrey (9/4), Earl Of Harrow (10/3), Smeaton (10/3), Tucson (9/2), Twenty Years On (5/1), Admirals Bay (11/2), Frankadore (6/1), Say Nothing (12/1), Kensington Art (12/1)

Verdict

The longer trip made all the difference last week for ADMIRALS BAY who may prove hard to stop under his penalty if in a similar mood. In what looks a fair race for the grade, Highwaygrey, Earl Of Harrow, and Twenty Years On were also winners last time and all three are respected, while both Frankadore and Tucson are potential improvers.
  1. Admirals Bay
  2. Twenty Years On
  3. Frankadore
