Dutch Art colt, winner on second start last summer at York (7f, good to soft; 5-2f) in novice event. Showed up well in Dubai in January and needs close check for AW bow with yard in form and Jamie Spencer back in the plate.
70,000 gns son of Lope de Vega, won 2-3 starts last year over 7f/1m here and since had couple of runs in Group/Listed company at Meydan. Has left Richard Hughes and while opening handicap mark isn't easy, needs respected given perfect course record.
Dual winner at Wolverhampton already, including on second start in handicaps last month over 1m1½f when landing Class 4 heat. Up 7lb so must improve again, may do so.
Dubawi gelding quickly going the right way this year for Godolphin, latest when defying 6lb penalty for smooth Redcar (1m, good to firm; 4-1) success with follow up at Doncaster (7f, good to firm; 5-6f). Must repeat that feat from new mark.
Winner of C&D novice contests in December and April either side of a layoff and now 2-3 overall. Had a couple of subsequent winners behind last time, goes handicapping and scope to get involved.
Scored at both Lingfield and Kempton (7f/1m, AW) in the winter, the latter when 7lb lower. Has run well in defeat on both recent turf starts, latest in this grade. Respected back on the AW.
Forecasts
Gentle Look (5/2), Fields Of Athenry (4/1), San Carlos (9/2), Fintas (9/2), Spirit Warning (5/1), Woven (7/1)
The hat-trick seeking Gentle Look is respected despite shouldering another hike in the ratings and should run well but preference is for the unexposed SAN CARLOS. He made a decent impression here in April and has scope for more upped in distance now reverting to handicaps. In a field where nothing can be crossed off with confidence, Fintas may be most interesting of the remainder.
