8lb higher than the mark he started off at the beginning of the season after a couple of wins at Thirsk and Haydock (both wins over 6f). 5lb higher than for latest victory but going the right way and respected in bid for hat-trick.
Bettered seasonal return when fourth at Haydock (6f; good to firm) last time. Behind Look Out Louis then but was giving him 6lb and now receives weight from that rival, so every chance he could turn the form around.
Up 3lb for neck-second at Newmarket (6f; good) last time out. Has a very appealing profile and is progressive. Can be competitive once more as he drops back down to a Class 4 (won in this grade two starts back).
Has struggled since being hit with a 6lb rise for winning at Goodwood (6f; good) last September. However, much better recently and has posted two solid enough efforts in defeat the last twice. Each-way shout.
Fair effort on debut when well-fancied (sent off 15-8F). Backwards step since then when finishing fourth of six at Nottingham, but had excuses as that was his sole attempt at 5f. Perfectly possible for him to regain winning thread back up in trip.
Regressive since winning at Yarmouth (7f; good to firm) last season. Changed yards since then but no apparent revival on the cards when making debut for this trainer in April. Has it all to prove dropped a further 3lb.
C&D scorer who has won twice from four starts this campaign. The latest of those when he prevailed at Ayr (5f; good to firm) by a neck. However, both of those victories this season have came over 5f and he must defy a career-high mark.
Gradually getting better with each start in handicaps. Sent off 7-4F at Hamilton (6f; good to firm) when runner-up recently and is a player tonight off the same mark.
Been kept on the go over the winter. Bit inconsistent in recent starts. Poor showing last time when seventh at Wetherby (5f; good) and suspicion he may just prefer the AW.
Struggling for form in two starts this term for new trainer. Impossible to fancy off the back of those efforts. Remains best watched.
Forecasts
Dominus (7/4), Look Out Louis (4/1), Hafeet Alain (11/2), Constant (8/1), Princess Power (10/1), Finoah (12/1), Mark's Choice (16/1), Converter (16/1), Coolagh Magic (33/1), No More Regrets (50/1)
This looks set to be fought out between Look Out Louis and FINOAH who met at Haydock just twelve days ago. The former came out on top of that occasion but was receiving a fair chunk of weight from the latter and with the weight scales tipped firmly in the favour of the latter, he can reverse the form and notch his first success of the season. Dominus also holds a progressive profile and can follow the main protagonists home although he may be better over 7f.
- Finoah
- Princess Power
- Dominus
