Useful hurdler at his best who was a winner on the Flat in France over 1m7f. Debuts fo a yard who do well with their older horses on AW, but an absence of 885 days means a watching brief is advisable.
C&D winner in March who has gone well in his two starts since on turf. That has prompted another rise in the weights, but he is holding his form better than most in this.
Completed a hat-trick over 1m4f-1m6f in early 2018 but he has barely beaten a rival in two races at this trip on the Flat. Has slipped below his last winning mark and is dropped in class, so has every chance if he stays.
Won three times last summer but has shown some wayward tendencies since and was pulled up at Chester. Has obvious questions to answer.
Has run to a similar level on all his starts for Marco Botti and recently switched yards for 15,000 gns. Hardly appeals as well-handicapped and this trip should be beyond him given his pedigree.
Winning hurdler who has had little racing in past 12 months. Last two runs have been poor and he looks easy to ignore.
Unexposed on the Flat, particularly over this trip. Neck winner of a lower grade AW race at Lingfield under this rider who is now 11-39 for this in form yard at an impressive 67 points level stakes profit.
C&D winner during the winter and latest run indicated she was coming to hand after a break. Will appreciate the return to 2m and rider has made an excellent start to the month.
Looks thrown in on his form here last autumn but he has been struggling recently. New headgear/trip tried by trainer who is a rare visitor here and his pedigree does not suggest he will stay.
Dutch Art gelding has hit 10-years-old now and is yet to win beyond 1m5f. Refused to race last time but reunited with a rider who is 3-6 when on board.
Winner in first-time cheekpieces here in October and has run well on both starts this year for new yard. Steps up again in trip and, given the way he stayed on at Goodwood, he should improve for the switch.
2-2 over C&D and has also scored at Wolverhampton. Can be forgiven a poor run on Fibresand last time but something to prove in this grade off his current mark.
Forecasts
Knight Crusader (11/4), Sassie (5/1), Superb Story (5/1), Blazon (8/1), Mapped (10/1), Dance To Paris (10/1), Cristal Spirit (12/1), Paddy A (14/1), Inn The Bull (16/1), Jacob Cats (25/1), Galactic Spirit (50/1), Winter Lion (100/1)
Knight Crusader and Blazon have been in good form this year and are weighted accordingly. Inn The Bull and Galactic Spirit have questions to answer over this trip. In contrast course winners Sassie and Cristal Spirit look set to step up for the extra 2f, but preference is for the lightly raced DANCE TO PARIS. The selection represents a yard whose horses are running well and the jockey has an impressive record for them. The filly showed a good attitude to beat a reliable yardstick at Lingfield and may still have more to offer.
- Dance To Paris
- Sassie
- Cristal Spirit
