Well-backed 13-8F when off the mark at the second attempt at Leicester (5f; good to firm). Only horse to have won a race in this field, but must shoulder a 6lb penalty. Trainer does well with two-year-olds though so is still highly respected.
Good third on debut at York (6f; good to firm). Drops back down to 5f tonight. Must be considered a major player if improving just a bit from that encouraging start to life.
One of two runners in this for David O'Meara who is enjoying a fine 2019 campaign so far. Ran well below expectations when finishing eighth of eight at Hamilton (5f; good to firm) on debut. Needs to have improved plenty from that.
52,000gns yearling who was then sold as a vendor for £80,000 as a two-year-old. Likely to run well on debut, especially if market vibes are positive.
Cost the most in this field as a yearling (62,000gns) and is a half-brother to a couple of AW winners. Likely candidate for stable who have fair share of success with two-year-old's.
£42,000 yearling by No Nay Never. Related to plenty of winners. Could play a part on debut for powerful connections who do very well at this track.
Dandy Man-filly who is one of just a couple in here with experience on her side. Probably ran to a similar level than she did on debut when fourth to a nice prospect at Doncaster (5f; good to firm). Bound to be involved.
Cost £10,000 as a yearling and her father is none other than the talented Toronado. Must be respected for yard who have plenty of two-year-old debut winners.
Forecasts
Jump The Gun (11/4), Street Life (10/3), Chattanooga Boy (9/2), Olcan (13/2), Mrs Bouquet (8/1), Balancing Act (10/1), Dandizette (12/1), Laughing Crusader (50/1)
A competitive heat in which those who have experience don't set too daunting a standard. Therefore, this race is cherry ripe for one of the newcomers to take on debut. Balancing Act has a nice pedigree and represents connections who have had a lot of luck at this track in recent years. She should win plenty of races in future no matter what happens tonight, but Richard Fahey's Hot Streak-colt STREET LIFE might just be good enough to win this first time up. He is well related and hails from a yard who do very well with such types. Despite not winning, Dandizette has finished in the frame on both starts to date and can do so again before making her mark in handicaps.
