Often highly tried last year after winning on debut at Newmarket, although she's also shown her share of temperament. Trailed home at Leicester on latest start, and not easy to fancy with cheekpieces now replacing a hood.

Career record now 1-17, with that win coming in a soft-ground French claimer over 6f. Not disgraced on return to turf at Bath in April, but failed to match that effort at Ascot last time, and a place seems the best he can expect here.

Not disgraced when seventh of 12 at Sandown on her handicap debut, but helped by an overly strong pace there, and efforts either side have been disappointing.

Won a 5f novice at Southwell last year, and placed in a claimer there on final start for Richard Fahey. Needs to step up markedly on that form now making debut for new yard.

Disappointed on second start, but confirmed debut promise when second of 14 to Dazzling Dan in a 6f maiden at Doncaster late last season. Tongue tied for return, and found a good opening.

First run for current stable after leaving James Given's yard when second of seven in a Yarmouth handicap in April. Below form in maiden company there last time, but claims if bouncing back in this weaker race.

Came to hand early last season but his form dipped later in the year. Below form on both starts this season, but excuses can be made, and he may do better now equipped with a visor.

Forecasts

Night Secret (10/11), Sirius Slew (13/2), Usain Boat (7/1), Champion Brogie (10/1), Mawde (10/1), Aquarius (11/1), Mr Buttons (12/1)

Verdict

NIGHT SECRET is tongue tied on her return from absence, which is a slight concern, but she has less to prove than most, and should be hard to beat if matching her juvenile form. Sirius Slew was a tad disappointing in a maiden last time, but had been runner-up three times in four starts prior to that, and will be on the premises again. Usain Boat hasn't gone on since a promising start last year, but is in calmer waters with a visor tried here, and should be more competitive as a result.
  1. Night Secret
  2. Sirius Slew
  3. Usain Boat
