Pulled up in a point-to-point last May but this €70,000 represents powerful connections and has to merit a betting check. The tongue tie for his racecourse debut is a concern though.
Pulled up in three of his four starts in point-to-points and was far from impressive when he did manage to complete. Tried in a tongue tie/cheekpieces combination and might be best left alone from a betting perspective.
The form of his debut run in a bumper (at the Punchestown Festival) created a very favourable impression and the gelding looks a sure-fire improver; well worth considering in a weak event like this.
Stablemate of Gun Merchant whose form in bumpers has been modest at best so far; best effort so far came on soft ground and the mare needs to dig a good bit deeper than previous performances.
Pulled up on debut in a point-to-point and didn't make much progress when tried in a bumper at Killarney earlier this month; much more now required.
Forecasts
Rocket Lad (4/9), Guttural (6/1), Gun Merchant (8/1), Creadan Belle (8/1), Georgina Burgess (12/1), Doubi The Risk (50/1), Peiata (66/1)
ROCKET LAD looks the obvious one to side with in a very weak finale. Guttural was an expensive purchase and has to merit consideration in being introduced to racing under rules at this level, while Gun Merchant makes more appal than his stablemate Creadan Belle and is suggested as the best of the rest.
