Took advantage of a weak finish from two of the main players when returning to form on stable debut at Stratford (weak contest for the grade). Undone by a rise in the weights in a better contest last time; this looks a more suitable test.

Rare runner at the track for the trainer who sends this son of Balko here for his chasing debut having only run to a modest level last time over hurdles (2m). That trip proved too sharp; type to make a chaser and this distance will suit much better.

Gone firmly into regressive mode since before and after joining this stable with his latest run over hurdles merely confirming his total loss of form. Now sent hurdling for the first time with very little expected.

Of little account these days and well beaten here on Saturday over a shorter trip; often looks quirky and temperamental. 0-44 over fences and unlikely to be changing that zero to a one in this.

Scored three times over hurdles last year (once here over 2m6f) before the handicapper got him within his grasp. Offered little when last seen over hurdles off a break but could well stage a revival going chasing for the first time.

Forecasts

Deyrann de Carjac (4/6), William Of Orange (5/2), Aintree My Dream (5/2), Sporty Yankee (66/1), Sussex Road (100/1)

Verdict

With two of the runners having very little chance and looking to be engaged in a private stable battle this will be a three cornered affair. This will only be the second chase runner at the track for Alan King but his DEYRANN DE CARJAC has always looked the sort to make a chaser and this trip will be far more to his liking than the 2m he ran over last time. William Of Orange who is rated more highly over hurdles will prove a difficult opponent as he too makes his fencing bow with a recent Haydock hurdles run having blown the cobwebs away. The third member of the triumvirate who will be involved in this bar mishaps is Aintree My Dream he might just struggle to give a penalty away though.
  1. Deyrann de Carjac
  2. William Of Orange
  3. Aintree My Dream
