Winner on the Flat in France and rady winner on debut for leading connections at Fairyhouse in January. The step in to Grade company has not worked out and this may have to be the Authorized geldings level for a while.
Solid once-rated 85 on the Flat for trainer Luca Cumani before following up on a promising debut run by winning a Downpatrick maiden hurdle hurdle over 2m3f earlier this month. Open to significant improvement.
Gelding by Most Improved out of a Peintre Celebre mare. Modest 68-rated handicapper on the Flat but won at the first time of asking over hurdles last month at Kilbeggan. Beaten in novice company since but one to keep on side here.
Winner on the Flat in France for previous connections before getting off the mark on debut in a Cork maiden hurdle over 2m earlier this month beating 20 rivals 8L. Likely to be popular in the market for leading trainer/jockey combination.
Modest 76-rated handicapper on the Flat and generally struggled in three career hurdle starts between October and December last year. Out of sorts recently and this looks a tough ask.
Below-par 60-rated handicapper on the Flat. Not disgraced when running well in defeat on hurdling debut in a Cork 2m contest, finishing fourth of 21 beaten 13L on good to yielding ground. More needed and could be one to note in handicaps.
Gelding by Martaline out of a Bonnet Rouge mare. Half-brother to French winners Ivresse Du Berlais and La Croix Sonnet. French import ran encouragingly on debut at Fairyhouse over 2m in a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle in February. Leading player.
Without success in 22 starts, best rated 62 on the Flat for trainer David Marnane. Much to like about his fourth of 14 on hurdling debut at Sligo last month. More needed in this company.
10-race maiden with a basement rating of 45 on the Flat for trainer Sheila Lavery. Faded after four out on hurdling debut over 2m½f at Punchestown in November. Well below par form looks set to continue.
Well down the pack on initial bumper starts around the turn of the year and only got as far as the second on hurdling introduction in a Killarney maiden earlier this month. May need time.
Forecasts
Foveros (8/11), Morosini (11/4), Coolongolook (5/1), Authorizo (12/1), Flindt (20/1), Dollar Value (33/1), Patrick Joseph (50/1), Thousand Tears (66/1), Ashqar (66/1), Tahan (66/1)
The form and early promise shown by Authorizo appears to have diminished in a number of Graded contests since February but he may be more comfortable in this company. The gelding can give a decent account of himself here but may have to settle for prize money behind the Willie Mullins-trained Foreros and the J P McManus-owned MOROSINI, who can progress from a fine second of six in a Grade 3 juvenile contest at Fairyhouse in February.
- Morosini
- Foveros
