Belatedly got off the mark towards the back end of last year and landed a Group 3 at Leopardstown on final start of 2018. Well beaten at Longchamp on return and has it all to prove at this level.

Won a maiden on return at Limerick on just her second start and looked a little unlucky when runner-up at Leopardstown when stepped up to Group 3 class earlier in the month. Should have more to give and not one to rule out.

Won her first two starts before a very respectable but distant second in the Breeders' Cup. Unsuited by a muddling pace in France last time and may be even better now tried on this quicker ground; leading contender.

Group 1 winner at Newmarket in September and she ran a big race when fifth of 15 in the English 1,000 Guineas when stepped up in trip. Hard to see her reversing form with stablemate but capable of going well at least.

Won her maiden here and subsequently finished runner-up to Hermosa in a Group 3 at Naas in September, form that has obviously been franked aplenty. Bolted up when odds-on at Killarney last time but this is much tougher.

Only narrowly denied in Group 1 class towards the end of last season but improved in the off-season and bolted up in the English 1,000 Guineas on return. Perhaps got an easy time on the front end but clearly on the up and the one to beat.

9/1
Group 1 winner as a juvenile, getting the better of Hermosa at Newmarket in October. Hasn't been in the same form in two starts this year including when 3L behind Hermosa in the Guineas last time and needs more to reverse the form.

9/2
Group 2 winner in September and put up a respectable effort when fourth (East second) at the Breeders' Cup meeting in November. May struggle to reverse form with Hermosa having finished in behind her in the Guineas but capable of going well.

Pretty Pollyanna226
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: L Dettori| T: M L W Bell| OR:  116
9/1
Group 1 winner at Deauville in August but couldn't quite reach the same heights in two subsequent Group 1 starts, most recently when third behind Iridessa in October. May do better this season and could go well from the front for Dettori.

Qabala21
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: D Egan| T: R Varian| OR:  109| BF
3/1
Remarkably well backed when winning the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket in April and produced a big effort in defeat in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket last time, probably giving Hermosa a little too much rope. May get closer to that rival here.

Forecasts

Hermosa (5/2), Qabala (3/1), Just Wonderful (9/2), East (7/1), Pretty Pollyanna (9/1), Iridessa (9/1), Fairyland (12/1), Foxtrot Liv (25/1), Dean Street Doll (50/1), Coral Beach (66/1)

Verdict

HERMOSA was impressive when winning on her reappearance in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket when last seen and with more improvement on the cards, the filly may be able to get the better of Qabala again who rates as the main danger. The latter was a shade unlucky last time when bumped at a crucial stage and she probably gave Hermosa a little too much rope on the front end that day. East brings quality form to the table and has been trained patiently by Kevin Ryan.
  1. Hermosa
  2. Qabala
  3. East
