Improved on her second start to win a Nottingham maiden (1m½f, good) in October, before going close in the Listed Montrose Stakes at Newmarket next. Too keen in Cheshire Oaks latest but if settling better she should stay and this much easier fare.

Showed plenty of promise on debut and took step a forward when winning at Wolverhampton on her second start. Not ready for Lingfield Oaks trial latest although not disgraced. Still learning and sure there's more to come.

Newmarket winner latest over this trip for the furthest time showed her in good light and a filly with further potential over middle distances. Upped 8lb for that but still highly unexposed over the trip and a likely sort here.

Beat now Oaks favourite Mehdaayih on debut last year at Doncaster. First race at three (fourth overall) saw her a close third in a Salisbury handicap over this trip and with usual progress she ought to again make a bold bid.

Left Ger Lyons for 22,000gns in October 2018; ran reasonably in two starts at Beverley so far this season for previous connections but looks in pretty deep here.

Forecasts

Arctic Fox (15/8), Elisheba (11/4), Quintada (7/2), Vivid Diamond (9/2), Osmosis (11/1)

Verdict

The fact John Gosden considered ELISHEBA worthy of an Oaks trial in just her third start speaks volumes as to her likely being held in pretty high regard. She was still green there so ought to come on again and can land this tricky little puzzle. Recent Newmarket winner Arctic Fox brings the best handicap form to the table and Vivid Diamond like the selection is respected having also taken in an Oaks trial latest.
  1. Elisheba
  2. Arctic Fox
  3. Vivid Diamond
