Group 2 winner as a juvenile now established as a classy handicapper. Running well on the whole this spring although could never land a blow latest in ultra-competitive Victoria Cup. Better prospects here but handicap leaves little room for error.
Now three years since this Listed and Group Three scorer last won. Past C&D win is a plus and ran pretty well at Haydock latest when fourth off this mark. Likable if un-prolific scorer capable of making the frame again.
Likable and progressive mare made Group Three breakthrough last year. Stalls didn't open properly and she banged her head on return so that forgotten. Won a Stewards Cup off mark just 3lb lower in 2016 and rates a big player here.
10-time winner earnt connections £318k in his fine career. Model of consistency this winter on AW yet turf record is even better and expectant as usual of a bold bid off a mark he's proven off.
Won twice over 1m last season but far too keen on return in 7f Victoria Cup at Ascot where he beat just one home. Better than that showing but it nevertheless tempers enthusiasm.
All his six wins over 6f and two autumn wins at Kempton further suggested he is a greater force on AW (3-27 on turf). Back from a layoff he is opposable, especially over 7f.
Shrewdly plotted to land an £80k prize at Leopardstown last summer and back off the same mark here after three unplaced efforts since. Ahead of two of these on return in Victoria Cup and should come on so not ruled out here.
Claims on his close second at Doncaster in September. Signs of a comeback latest at Newbury after three fairly lifeless efforts and cheekpieces could bring enthusiasm back.
Forecasts
So Beloved (11/4), Cardsharp (4/1), Dancing Star (11/2), Via Serendipity (6/1), Salateen (13/2), Zap (7/1), Normandy Barriere (16/1), Polybius (18/1)
Hopefully DANCING STAR will have forgotten her unfortunate stalls incident latest because at her best she is a very classy filly and is fancied to bounce back to land this decent handicap. Zap is back to the same mark in which he landed a big-pot last season and at four he should be every bit as good this year. Salateen never runs a bad race and should again be respected.
