Course winner who won a chase subsequently at Kempton. Back over hurdles following a poor round at Haydock with fears this trip may be too far.

Arcadio gelding related to a 3m chase winner. Has improved with each outing and further progress likely on handicap bow over a more suitable trip. Hood added so worth noting how the market reacts.

Landed a mares race here two weeks ago under a patient well-judged ride. May have had more in hand than accounted for in a 7lb rise so one to bear in mind.

Has gone close a few times this year, but his latest run (beaten 37L) suggested the handicapper may have his measure at this time.

Much better in a maiden hurdle over C&D last time under a positive ride. Needs to improve on previous handicap efforts and he may not get his own way in front this time.

The form of his penultimate outing had worked out well, but he was soon in trouble when running at Limerick six days later. With hindsight that may have been too soon and he's had a break since.

Landed a heavy ground Punchestown hurdle in 2017 and he has only produced one noteworthy performance in a handful of outings since. Has too many questions to answer.

Won on bumper debut at Kilbeggan, so very disappointing that he's shown so little in four subsequent starts over hurdles. May do better now handicapping but jockey bookings indicate Monition is expected to do more.

Had been off five months before losing his action and pulling up at Sligo. Claims on his prior form but best watched until proving his fitness.

Won a two-mile contest on the Flat off a mark of 53 so there is every chance he can improve on his recent hurdling form over this kind of trip.

Still 3lb above his winning mark of a year ago despite only being placed once in 12 starts since. Hard to make a case for at present.

Both victories have come with some give underfoot. Unplaced twice off this mark since scoring at Fairyhouse and others make more appeal.

Monition (7/2), Dynamic Allen (4/1), British Art (6/1), Thegoaheadman (7/1), Beeper's Ruby (15/2), Everlastingpromise (10/1), Steel Cap (10/1), A Place Apart (12/1), The Hunter Hoe (20/1), Aa Bee See (20/1), Loupgarou (33/1), Fontainbleau (33/1)

Verdict

THEGOAHEADMAN carries some risk having been pulled up last time but that came just six days after a good run in a race that has worked out well. Dynamic Allen won a mares race here and takes on stronger company here but remains a threat given her current run of form. Monition dictated his own fractions when going close here but will likely have more company up front this time. Everlastingpromise has just had three runs so far and looks destined to reveal more now handicapping over a trip more in keeping with his pedigree.
