Improving hurdler who was 7L second in last month's Scottish Champion Hurdle, and ran to a similar level when sixth of 17 to Le Patriote in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock last time. This is marginally easier, and he needs consideration.
Rapid improvement on fast ground last summer and suited by sharp tracks. Ran well on return from a winter break when third in Sussex Champion Hurdle last time, and possible he'll come on for the run.
Won twice over 2m at Plumpton in early-2018, and right back to his best when winning at Fontwell on latter start last season. Entitled to need this after a break, and slated to go novice chasing soon.
Failed to win last season, but put up several creditable performances, including when a close third of 14 to Uno Mas in conditionals/amateurs event at Cheltenham last month. Sure to give it his all again.
Not the best of jumpers but makes up for it with an impressive turn of foot, and well placed to win twice last summer. Anchored by big weight at Stratford when last seen, but looks to be on a stiff mark on balance now handicapping after a break.
Returning from a break when finishing seventh in a valuable 2m handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time out (Leapaway third). Likely to have improved for the run and interesting to see how she fares.
Has looked reluctant, but in the form of his life of late, hitting the frame in handicaps on his last three starts, and clear of the third when beaten in a photo at Ludlow last time. Shortlisted.
Won this race a year ago, and now 3lb lower after a mixed set of results last season. Likely to be tuned up for a repeat, so respected.
Forecasts
Mister Universum (7/2), Dino Velvet (4/1), Leapaway (9/2), Peruvien Bleu (9/2), Magic Dancer (11/2), Not Never (15/2), Mystic Sky (16/1), Competition (20/1)
A cracking race for a midweek card, and none of the runners can be ruled out. PERUVIEN BLEU is tricky, but doing nothing wrong of late and is the pick with Lizzie Kelly taking over from her half-brother. Dino Velvet has been running well in hot events and merits respect, as does last year's winner Mister Universum, who has dropped to a tempting mark.
- Peruvien Bleu
- Dino Velvet
- Mister Universum
