Looked better than ever when a 5L winner at Newbury first time out and fair fifth behind a useful sort at Doncaster off this 8lb higher mark next. Not overly concerned by quicker ground now and should again go well.

Handicap continues to slide after mostly disappointing spell on the AW. Losing run totting up now and suspect other's are better handicapped.

Won twice at the start of last season but completely lost his way towards the back end of the campaign and he seemingly returned in similar form when only 14th of 16. Seventh of 14 at Doncaster latest a step in the right direction but more needed.

Not beaten far over C&D on soft ground to end last season when third of 10 off this mark. Faster surface here not a concern so if he's ready to roll first time he should go well.

Made the frame in first three starts of last campaign before flopping latest when tailed off last of eight at Newbury on soft ground. Better can be expected back on a sound surface and handicap mark is within striking distance.

Chelmsford winner in January was second on his next two races on AW but flopped badly latest in a warmer contest at Kempton when last of 16. Has to show improvement can carry over to turf and bounce back from that poor run.

Soft ground C&D winner last November hasn't added to that win on the AW this winter but ran far race back on turf latest at Newbury. Back to mark of aforementioned success but ground here likely very different.

Dual AW winner last summer and was not disgraced on return to action at Newcastle before excellent fourth of 18 at Newbury considering 50/1 odds. Gets 1lb back so should again be in the thick of things here.

Won his first two at Lingfield (AW) before struggling in better company last year. Fourth at Windsor latest arguably his best turf run to date. May have come back to a mark where he's effective now so has decent claims here.

Forecasts

Lunar Jet (9/2), C Note (9/2), Perfect Illusion (9/2), You're Hired (5/1), Harbour Breeze (5/1), Star Of Southwold (6/1), Lawmaking (9/1), Nayel (12/1), Rotherwick (14/1), Dramatic Device (16/1), Secret Art (66/1)

Verdict

Although yet to win on turf PERFECT ILLUSION ran well enough at Windsor latest to be worth chancing in a pretty open looking handicap; he could easily improve in just his second season of racing. Lunar Jet had a whole host of these behind when winning at Newbury and should confirm placings with all of them despite now being 8lb higher. You're Hired could easily go close first time out back on a sound surface.
