Failed to build on a couple of promising bumper starts when finishing down the field in a couple of maiden hurdle efforts since last month. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Four-race maiden hurdler, who has shown hints of ability and promise in a couple of starts since February. Strong feeling that handicaps will suit better on the back of this run, but hard to discount looking at the opposition.

Gelding by Arakan out of a Supreme Leader mare. Followed up a dismal point-to-point start by finishing 81L behind the winner of a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle earlier this month. Unlikely to be playing a part in the finish.

4/1
Nine-race maiden under rules and no impression in an error-filled round at Limerick in March on hurdling debut over 2m. Overall record casts doubt on his ability to get competitive in this company.
Beat Hollow gelding out of a useful 2m-3m hurdle winner. Has failed to build on a promising debut in a Wexford maiden hurdle over 2m in March with a couple of below par efforts since. Could take a hand at the business end of proceedings.

Son of Golden Tornado out of a Roselier mare. Dam unplaced 1m2f - 13.5f in France, half-sister to Group 1 winners Sagamix and Sagacity. Well held on Sligo debut last month and more needed here.

Daughter of Gold Well out of a Beneficial mare. Unruly at the start before unseating rider at the first on debut earlier this month at Tipperary. Easy to dismiss chances.
Daughter of Gold Well out of a Beneficial mare. Dam won on the Flat at 1m6f and also over hurdles from 2m to 2m4f. Interesting to see if market is positive.
Running well in defeat recently in a couple of bumper starts since last month. Niggling doubts, given poor hurdling debut at Clonmel in February when beaten over 100L. Market possibly best guide.
Winner of one of her 14 career starts on the Flat, sole win coming on the AW at Dundalk. Could be an interesting recruit to the jumping game, more likely when going handicapping.

Nothing of note, generally well held in two career starts on the Flat for GB trainer William Fitzpatrick, when last seen 12 months ago. Best watched on debut with Newbridge, Co Kildare yard without a winner in the last five years.

Well held in three dismal efforts on the Flat and pulled up on latest point-to-point start in March. Does not warrant support based on overall racecourse appearances.

Daughter of Jeremy out of a Entrepreneur mare. Dam unraced half-sister to middle distance winners Colony and Hopeful Purchase. Last of 21 on maiden hurdle debut at Cork earlier this month. First-time tongue strap unlikely to spark improvement.

Forecasts

Gotthenod (4/1), City Limits (4/1), World Stage (4/1), Cats For Cash (9/2), Fiveallin (9/2), Beechmount Maisie (12/1), Miss Louise (14/1), Mister H (25/1), Dathuil Dearg (33/1), Aileens Joy (100/1), Lough Eske (100/1), Military Dress (100/1), Shop Street (100/1)

Verdict

CITY LIMITS can take the upperhand in a weak contest. The Nathaniel gelding in first-time cheekpieces can land the spoils ahead of the Jessica Harrington-trained, Fiveallin who ran well in defeat on both maiden hurdle starts to date and Dathuil Dearg on stable debut. Any market move for newcomer Beechmount Maisie from the Peter Fahey yard should be noted.
  1. City Limits
  2. Fiveallin
  3. Dathuil Dearg
