2-11 in PTP's (3m winner on quick ground); 0-8 over fences under rules; left toiling by the 1/20f Waikiki Waves in a match race at Fontwell (2m3½f) recently.

Regularly placed in 2m Class 6 AW handicaps during the winter; has encountered soft ground over obstacles of late (hurdle and a chase); 1-30 overall - hardly a winning machine.

2-44 under rules, last win came in a 2m3f Downpatrick Beginners' Chase (yielding) for Gordon Elliott in October 2017; staying on second of four to Ardera Cross at Warwick (2m, good) 18-days ago.

Won twice over hurdles (2m2f+ to 2m4f) for the Champion Jockey Richard Johnson; has shown very little in the way of enthusiasm for tackling the larger obstacles (0-3); weakens worryingly quickly.

Here I Am31
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-0| J: J E Moore| T: Mrs D Grissell| OR:  97| D
5/2
Veteran who certainly knows his way around Fontwell Park better than anywhere else; on a feasible mark, and ran reasonably enough latest, albeit it'll be a bit of a surprise if he doesn't find at least one rival stronger.

Forecasts

Come On Charlie (13/8), Here I Am (5/2), Canny Tom (3/1), Argyle (7/1), Rendezvous Peak (22/1)

Verdict

A race which makes no appeal for punting purposes. Here I Am is a veteran, but he's surely a far safer conveyance than Come On Charlie. However, without any degree of confidence whatsoever the tentative shout goes up for CANNY TOM who put in a solid enough showing at Warwick latest, and was also a winner over a similar trip in his Irish days for Gordon Elliott (Beginners' Chase).
  1. Canny Tom
  2. Here I Am
  3. Argyle
