Listed winner (7f, good to soft) at Newbury last September, and well placed to win 5-11 so far. Penalty makes this tougher, but certainly not one to be dismissing lightly here.
Dual 7f winner on fast ground, and made the frame in the Group 3 City Of York Stakes last year. Has to prove he has the ability to make an impact now on slower ground.
Won a Group 2 at the Curragh last year, when with David O'Meara. Handles soft, but better form when there is a 'good' in the description. Made encouraging return at Leicester last month and looks one for the short-list.
Has won the same C&D handicap here for the past two season, both on soft. Steps up to this level for the first time, but appears to be improving based on his latest success, so well worth his place here and could make a big impact.
Grade 1 winner in USA in 2017, and not ground dependent. Found winning difficult under penalties last year, but went very close in Goodwood Group 2 in July and another creditable effort at that level last time. Claims.
Former Andrew Fabre inmate who has been competitive at this level, and arrives in form after a Thirsk conditions win on his reappearance/stable debut last month. Acts on good to soft, has it to prove on softer. Improving and not ruled out.
Well placed to win 3-5 so far and proved himself on soft ground with his easy Newbury reappearance success. Looks well worth the step up to this grade and is a very interesting runner with his age allowance a positive.

Happy Power (7/4), Suedois (4/1), Vanbrugh (11/2), Safe Voyage (6/1), Mankib (13/2), Larchmont Lad (9/1), Arbalet (20/1), New Day Dawn (25/1)
An interesting contest, where Happy Power looks progressive and should go very well, but preference is for LARCHMONT LAD, who ran well on his reappearance and has some very solid form to his name. Suedois, Mankib and Vanbrugh are all potential dangers.
