Billy Ocean At Pontefract 24th May Maiden Stakes

Showed little on debut for Roger Charlton last season, but first run for this stable saw him finish a pleasing fourth of nine at Pontefract last month. Seems to be going the right way and is one to consider.

Epaulette gelding who cost £18,000 as a breeze-up purchase. Half-brother to four winners over similar trips and dam was a 1m4f winner. Never involved when 10th of 16 on recent debut at Doncaster and looks one for further down the line.

Gelded son of Mayson who was sent off at 16-1 when fifth of six on the AW at Newcastle recently. Probably capable of better for his strong stable, but may come into his own when handicapping.

Camacho gelding who fetched £24,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to three winners over a variety of distances. Stable companion of Brutalab and Grey Berry and is probably best watched on debut.

Zebedee gelding who cost £8,000 as a yearling and whose dam won over 7f in Germany. Led for quite a long way when 10th of 11 on debut at Thirsk and should last longer this time.

Fair amount of promise in both starts over 7f as a juvenile. Has been gelded ahead of his reappearance and drops in distance. Looks a leading contender for powerful yard which has started to hit form.

Has hinted at ability on both starts this spring at Wolverhampton and Redcar. Needs to show a little more, but that is not impossible.

Third runner from this stable and probably the best of them. Solid efforts at Pontefract and Wetherby on only two starts and while her future probably lies in handicaps, this is not the strongest of maidens.

Firebreak filly who cost 8,500 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to useful 6f winner Mr Wizard and 1m winner Prezzie. Ran on strongly when short head second on debut at Thirsk and has obvious claims if able to build on that.

Well held, but not devoid of promise, on both starts at this track and Redcar. Can go handicapping after this and that looks the most likely route for her.
