Unplaced in six hurdle races so opening chase mark makes little appeal on balance. In good hands to improve but he does need to.

Plumpton winner over hurdles starts out over fences off a mark just 3lb higher than that victory so if she jumps well ought to be competitive here. Ground and trip will suit well.

Court Duty26

6/4
C&D winner off this mark over hurdles. Yet to impress over fences but jumps well enough on the whole and with his experience a bonus can be expected to go well here.

Second over 2m3½f two starts back at Stratford among the best chase form on offer although he was looking held in second latest as 6/5F when falling two out but that was over 3m1½f. Return to this trip could help so leading chance.

17-race maiden over hurdles has placed here on both previous visits. Form rather tailed off late last year but result is she does start over fences with a mark that has appeal.

Placed point-to-pointer failed to place over hurdles in four races but ran best race to date when sixth of 12 at Exeter on handicap bow. Chases should see him in a better light and has real appeal here.

0- over hurdles since racing under rules and form has taken a dip since joining his current yard. Not seen enough to be optimistic ahead of chasing bow.

Belmont Jewelp,t45
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: M Scudamore| OR:  91

Neck second at Huntingdon in penultimate start over hurdles comfortably her best to date but failed to back it up next. Handicap mark not impossible as she start over fences and she did earlier win a point-to-point.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-6| J: Miss Lucy Turner(7)| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  85

Unplaced in six over hurdles and failed to complete in three of them. Hails from a top yard but that the only positive we can find.

Midnight Owlet25
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-4| J: Charlie Hammond(3)| T: Miss C Dyson| OR:  83

Off the mark over fences at the 10th time of asking at Taunton but pulled up and basically tailed off in two races since. Chase win a plus over most but last two races hard to forget.

Former point winner unplaced in 10 races under rules and was last on chase bow at Exeter latest. Easy to pass over.

Long-standing maiden has fared better since going chasing and placed the last twice. May struggle to extend that sequence however from out of the handicap.

Won a three runner point-to-point last May but pulled up in last three starts and given he's well out of the handicap here a repeat is more likely than making the frame.

Forecasts

Court Duty (6/4), Magic River (5/1), Tanrudy (8/1), High Noon (8/1), Belmont Jewel (10/1), Rule The Ocean (10/1), Marvellous Monty (14/1), Auld Sod (16/1), Khairagash (25/1), Midnight Owle (25/1), Kentford Mallard (33/1), The Greenvet (33/1), Dina Maker (50/1)

Verdict

A chance is taken here on the junior of the field in TANRUDY who showed real progress over hurdles last time and given he's bred to be better over fences could well go on form that especially given how lightly raced he still is. Magic River's second two starts back reads well here and he deserves maximum respect. C&D hurdles winner (off this mark) Court Duty has to be taken seriously also.
