8/1
Winner of six point-to-points who produced a couple of fair efforts at Hereford last term. Improvement still needed to prove he is up to his current mark.
2
Horse silk
Vaxalco17
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-9| J: Jack Andrews(7)| T: N B King| OR:  102| D
5/2
23-race maiden under rules whose two best efforts last term were over C&D. Had an impossible task at the weights last time but remains vulnerable to his lack of pace.
3
Horse silk
Viva Rafat303
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-9| J: Daniel Hiskett(3)| T: R T Phillips| OR:  102
14/1
Has been let down by his jumping on his last three starts and there are some challenging obstacles here. Off since July and others make more appeal.
4

Brigadier Bobp26
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: J E Moore| T: Kerry Lee| OR:  93
10/1
Has performed at a modest level over hurdles lately and best effort came on bottomless ground. Making chase debut with cheekpieces reapplied (pulled up when fitted previously).

Belmont Parkp18
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Brendan Powell| T: D G Bridgwater| OR:  92| BF
9/1
Has his limitations and not the finished article over fences. Improvement likely up at this trip off a career low mark in a race that will take little winning.
9

Ectorp51
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-5| J: Harry Bannister| T: W Greatrex| OR:  84
6/1
Hopes for improvement on his handicap debut were soon extinguished and he looked an unwilling participant. Bred for chasing but he looks a risky proposition.

Record of 1-18 but that victory came here and he's run some good races defeat. Tends to get left behind and he is poorly weighted with Vaxalco on the form of that victory, but there is a chance this could fall apart.

Forecasts

Eaton Miller (9/4), Vaxalco (5/2), Ector (6/1), Minerfortyniner (8/1), Sandford Castle (8/1), Belmont Park (9/1), Brigadier Bob (10/1), Viva Rafa (14/1), Holy Street (14/1), Mansion (16/1)

Verdict

This is a poor race and none of these can really be relied upon. Eaton Miller came from an unpromising position to beat Vaxalco over C&D a month ago and there is no promise he can confirm that from out of the weights. Vaxalco is a longstanding one paced maiden who looks a fair bet to make the frame once more and this may fall to BELMONT PARK. The trip would have been too sharp for him last time but that effort sees him drop to a career low mark and, after two runs back from a lengthy layoff, he should be ready to step up at this lowly level.
  1. Belmont Park
  2. Vaxalco
  3. Eaton Miller
