Might well be a late developer (cost 57,000 guineas as a yearling) as having shown plenty to work on when unfancied on his debut (7f, Tapeta) he confirmed his debut promise next time. Showed a good attitude, may progress further up in trip again.

Appealing sort on pedigree who won well on her debut (Kempton, 1m) looking the sort to do better in the future. Not see again until her seasonal debut (after a wind op) upped in grade (failed the test); sights now lowered and upped in trip.
Gelding by Dubawi from a stable that do well with their older horses and this newcomer should be noted in the market. Half-brother to a useful winner at up to 1m2f Blushing Rose; dam juvenile 6f winner. Worth including in calculations.

Newcomer from a yard that are going well at the moment; half-brother to a winner at up to 1m1f winner Chinese Art. Dam French 1m1f winner, sister to smart 1m winner Musicanna. Market positives needed but should be heeded if materialising.

Looks to be one of the lesser lights in this having shown little in two starts so far last year. Last seen over 1m3f on turf at Windsor (finished last of nine); has since had wind surgery and makes little appeal.

Second in a bumper on debut he was switched to the Flat last time performing with credit in a 1m4f maiden at Southwell (just failed to cope with a improved winner). Looks capable of further progress if he can cope with the drop in trip/new surface.

Sales price plummeted down to £1500 as a three-year-old despite being a half-brother to several winners. Offered nothing on his debut though (Kempton, 1m) in March and despite the step up in trip can only be watched for now.

Filly by Archipenko; full sister to 7f winner who stayed 1m2f in Mariee and a half-sister to one 1m-1m4f winner Martiniquaise; dam 1m2f-1m4f winner. Given her pedigree has to be noted in the market on her debut.

Forecasts

Daddy's Daughter (11/4), Freerolling (10/3), Trailboss (10/3), Kodiac Harbour (4/1), Desert Son (6/1), Fox Mafia (10/1), Marquisette (16/1), Ginger Lacey (33/1), Treble Clef (50/1)

Verdict

One or two interesting newcomers add some interest to this race with Desert Son and Marquisette both worth noting in the market for any positive vibes on their belated debuts. Daddy’s Daughter looks an obvious threat given the fact that connections thought her good enough to try Listed company last time out. Trailboss is having a varied but short career so far and could get involved if the drop in trip and change of surface don’t cause him problems. KODIAC HARBOUR has shown a very good attitude on both his starts that will stand him in good stead and he looks capable of defying a penalty with the increased trip sure to suit.
  1. Kodiac Harbour
  2. Daddy's Daughter
  3. Trailboss
