Returned from second wind surgery within the space of four months to run well last time at Exeter. 1lb higher but useful 5lb conditional takes the mount so has every chance if in similar form.
Won two handicap hurdles for Philip Hobbs in 2016, the second off a 15lb higher mark than here. Tailed off on both starts for current yard and well undoubtedly well handicapped on old form it is debatable just how much ability he retains.
Lightly raced Worcester bumper winner who progressed when third last time out at Southwell on only second outing for current yard. Eased 1lb, yard operating at healthy 29% strike rate, and is worth a second glance.
Has won three handicap chases since undergoing wind surgery a year ago. Pulled up here in heavy ground when last seen in December and now switches to timber. Will probably be better for the outing back in this sphere.
Winning point-to-pointer but little to crow about in three poor efforts so far under Rules. Hard to see him figuring at the finish.
Yard does well here. Been disappointing over the last year but down to an appealing mark now and ran first decent race for sime time when close sixth at Fontwell last month. Jockey booking certainly catches the eye.
Lightly raced mare who has yet to reach a place in seven attempts. Makes handicap bow off modest mark but hasn't done enough to suggest she is a winner-in-waiting. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Tongue-tie on for first time seemed to help when runner-up here over a furlong less on penultimate start but didn't back that up at Chepstow last time. Others make more appeal.
Ran well until weakened quickly from last at Taunton in January. Has had wind surgery and remains to be seen if that makes a notable difference. Without a win since 2015 and has had plenty of chances since then.
13-race maiden who stays up to 2m5f. One of three in race for trainer and hard to know what to expect on first start under his guidance. Market may offer some clues.
Hasn't won since landing heavy ground handicap hurdle at around this trip at Chepstow in November 2015. Poor efforts over fences and hurdles of late and despite falling mark makes little appeal in current form. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Popped uppover C&D last time out when landing selling novice handicap hurdle in determined fashion. Raised 1lb and faces slightly stronger opposition but is in form and likes it around here.
Two wins at Stratford in 2016 but has had only one run since then, returning from 1007-day absence when running a cracker to be third at same track last month. Raised 3lb but looks a player if bounce factor doesn't catch him out.
3-71 and last success came in seller at Newton Abbot nearly four years ago. Shown little on last two starts but is 4lb lower than last outing. Hard to get excited about his chance though.
Forecasts
Blue N Yellow (5/1), Get Wishing (5/1), Dora's Field (11/2), Gamekeeper Bill (6/1), Mountain Of Mourne (7/1), Eddy (7/1), Ginjo (12/1), Candyman Can (16/1), Outlaw Jack (20/1), Bermeo (25/1), Lady Wethered (25/1), Ice Konig (33/1), Minnie Escape (33/1), Wolftrap (80/1)
EDDY looked on the way back with a solid effort last time and the booking of Paddy Brennan suggests connections are hopeful of a big run at a track where they do very well. Ginjo ran a fine race after a very long absence when third recently and if she is recovered from those exertions looks a serious player, while selling winner Dora's Field and Blue N Yellow both have claims, along with top weight Get Wishing, on whom a good conditional claims a valuable 5lb allowance.
- Eddy
- Ginjo
- Get Wishing
