Won a couple of little races for Tom Lacey but hasn't reproduced his best form for new yard as yet, and was well beaten again here last month when tried in a visor. Drops in class now, but plenty to prove.
Now 4lb higher than when winning over 2m5f at Ffos Las in November. Patchy form since, over hurdles the last twice, but yard in better form now, so could be revived.
Won off 8lb lower at Hexham in October, but ran poorly here next time. Back to form when neck second of 4 to Song Saa in mares handicap at Newcastle last time, and claims if building on that.
Won over C&D in November, and followed up at Newcastle. Now 17lb higher than for initial success, and well held last two starts, albeit with a possible excuse (lost a shoe) last time. Must bounce back.
Won twice at Perth as a novice in 2017, and bounced back from an absence looking as good as ever when second of 7 to Sporting Press at Kelso last time, leading until late, Entitled to strip fitter, and leading claims assuming he doesn't bounce.
Won a C&D handicap off 5lb lower in February to gain his only win to date under Rules. Good ½L second of 4 to Instingtive in handicap at Carlisle last time, and will be thereabouts with a repeat.
In the frame in small fields at Carlisle and Market Rasen last month, but below that form when well beaten at Hexham on Saturday, and opposable on balance.
Forecasts
Graystown (3/1), Dr Robin (9/2), Sophie Olivia (9/2), Blakerigg (11/2), Welcome Ben (8/1), Return Flight (8/1), Opechee (12/1), Sword Of Fate (20/1)
WELCOME BEN returned from an absence looking as good as ever when second at Kelso, and as long as that hasn't taken its toll, he is handicapped to get back to winning ways. Graystown is another on a fair mark having won over C&D earlier in the year, and is feared most, with Sophie Olivia also considered after bouncing back to her best last time,
