Has had two races 497 days apart. Appears in form trainer has something to work and worth a check in the market having been easy to back so far.

Son of Sea The Stars from the family of Golden Horn and showed he had plenty of the family ability when building on a promising debut to score at Newcastle in January. Won comfortably despite a steady gallop and he will need further before long.

Intello colt who is a half-brother to three winners, including Group 3 scorer Marenko. Looked in need of the experience on debut and he has more ground to make up than many of these.

Son of Kodiac cost 150,000gns as a yearling and a half-brother to Desert Encounter who won a Group 3 for this yard. Noted staying on for fourth behind a subsequent French Group 1 winner on debut and one of the main players here.

22,000 gns Dawn Approach half-brother to five winners including Group 3 winner Grendisar. Yard do not have many winning debutants but the jockey booking does look significant.

Showed some ability as a juvenile and has been gelded during the winter. Looks the type to do better when handicapping over middle-distances.

Sea Of Stars half-sister to Group 2 winning juvenile Best Of Days. Failed to settle on debut so no surprise to see hood go on. Showed some promise though and stable have won both previous runnings of this contest.

50,000 gns half-sister to four winners including two handled by this trainer. Family generally need further than this and yard have been quiet.

Stable have had a couple of winners this month but this Dick Turpin filly makes little appeal on pedigree and she is highly tried here.

Sister won over 1m2f as did her dam. Ground would have been on the soft side for debut and yard having a good spell with their three-year-olds right now, but trip here is probably on the short side

Mastercraftsman filly who fetched 50,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to a winner over 1m2f. Beaten 15L on debut and although she will improve, she is in a hot race here.

Dawn Approach filly out of a dam who is a half-sister to a US Grade 2 winner. Yard do not have many first time out scorers and she will need to be special to win this.

10/11
Sea The Stars filly out of a Group 3 winning miler. Third to two smart fillies under hands and heels riding on Newbury debut and sets the clear standard on that form for a yard with a 31% strike rate in novice events this year.

Verdict

This looks a three cornered fight between Sparkle In His Eye, Desert Land and TO THE MOON. The former represents a top yard and winning form, but he will do better in time over further and could be vulnerable under a penalty for winning a weaker race than this at Newcastle. Desert Land looked a ready made future winner on his debut but the selection represents John Gosden who has an enviable record in these novice contests. She looked a nice prospect when third to two fillies who have gone on to prove themselves at Pattern level and will take some beating in receipt of her allowance.
  1. To The Moon
  2. Desert Land
  3. Sparkle In His Eye
