Gelding by Lawman out of a Polish Precedent mare. In mid-division for most of the way before making headway under 2f out when runner-up on debut and went one better over 7f here. Shaped as though he should improve up a furlong and be competitive.

Big horse who created a favourable impression on debut before landing a Listowel maiden in September that worked out well. Disappointing on third start at Naas and again on reappearance at Cork. Others look stronger candidates.

Off the mark at the fourth attempt as a juvenile and improved on that when fourth in a Group 3 at Leopardstown. Matched that form on return again over the same 7f in the Listed 2000 Guineas Trial on stable debut. Sets the standard up in trip.

War Front colt an well on seasonal debut at Naas finishing 5½L adrift of the impressive Wargrave and duly improved up to this trip for a breakthrough success at Dundalk. Going the right way now and a lot more to offer at this distance.

Siyouni colt out of a Marju mare. Closely related to 7f winner Sharliyna and half-brother to 1m winner Shahzeena. Promise on debut third last year and improved significantly on reappearance to win over this trip at Navan. Rates a nice prospect.

Forecasts

Sherkali (2/1), Could Be King (2/1), Basic Law (9/4), National Guard (8/1), Check My Pulse (33/1)

Verdict

Could Be King has very strong form at 7f and sets a high standard but despite the small field all five like to race close to the pace and his stamina could be severely tested up to a mile. National Guard is improving with time and Basic Law has done well in two starts but preference is for SHERKALI who won a strong maiden on his second start and looks a smart prospect for the future.
  1. Sherkali
  2. National Guard
  3. Could Be King
