Very consistent last season, despite only getting his head in front once and shaped like he needed the run on first start since wind surgery over C&D last time out. Should kick on this year and rates as an interesting contender.

Well suited to being held up off a strong pace at Newcastle two starts back but failed to back that up at Lingfield last time. Needs more from this sort of handicap mark. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Didn't need to improve to get off the mark at Lingfield in March and shaped as if need of the run at Newbury last time. Dropped 1lb and he's an interesting contender back at 6f.

Made it two wins from three starts at York in July but well beaten twice subsequently, shaping as if amiss last time out at Newbury. First-time hood may help him settle but has plenty to prove at present.

A winner of one of his five starts but respectable and placed in Group 3 company at Newbury towards the end of last year. That form has been franked since and may have needed his reappearance; looks feasibly handicapped back in trip.

Won twice as a juvenile but hasn't managed to repeat that form in four starts this year. Fast ground over this trip are probably his optimum conditions but will need to bounce back here.

Won his first two starts but too keen when last of eight here in the Group 3 Craven Stakes last time. Interesting contender back in handicap company provided he settles better.

Made it two wins from three starts at Kempton last time and the runner-up has franked that form, winning since. Could easily improve again and handicapper has given him a real chance from this handicap mark.

Won his first two starts but struggled from his opening mark in three subsequent handicaps, with his best effort coming in a Listed race at Redcar when fourth of 21. Needs improvement if he's to win from this mark.

Showed promise on second start at Newbury before getting outclassed in Group company at Goodwood. Got his head in front on fifth start when winning at Kempton in October. However that form has taken knocks since; wears first-time tongue-tie.

Showed plenty on debut at Doncaster when second of 13 and confirmed the promise of that run when favourite at Newcastle in July. Didn't get the run of the race when well beaten in the sales race at Doncaster last time but improvement expected here.

Only narrowly denied in his bid for back-to-back AW wins at Kempton last time on his fourth career start. Didn't get a clear run that day and quite possible he's leniently handicapped here having been left on the same mark by the assessor.

Intuitive (4/1), Beat Le Bon (9/2), Jackstar (6/1), Louis Treize (7/1), Moyassar (10/1), Mawakib (10/1), Almufti (12/1), Concierge (12/1), Cool Reflection (16/1), Princes Des Sables (16/1), James Watt (25/1), Don Armado (33/1), He'zanarab (33/1)

Verdict

A hugely competitive handicap on paper and BEAT LE BON is the tentative selection with Ryan Moore booked to ride. He looked like he was in need of the run at Newbury last time but the drop in trip with fitness now on his side should see him get competitive. Mawakib could be very well handicapped for a yard in form while Intuitive and Almufti are two more with appealing handicap marks.
  1. Beat Le Bon
  2. Mawakib
  3. Almufti
