Can be forgiven latest run, and is now back on the same mark as when winning this race last year. Won again at Pontefract in July and at Lingfield (6f, AW) in March. Likely to be fully primed, and respected.

Not one to trust implicitly, but smart when on song, and his only three wins since 2014 have come over C&D. Two runs this term suggest his old ability is fully intact, so ought to be a major player.

Won three times on the spin in sprint races last summer, including on handicap debut, and bounced back on return to score at Kempton, albeit all out to hold on. Bit more required here in all probability.

Hard to catch right, but ran well when fifth off 2lb higher in the Portland Handicap here in September. Last of six on return at Redcar, but not beaten far, and that should have put an edge on him.

Won at Salisbury, Haydock, Ffos Las and Salisbury in 2018, but proved a disappointment when favourite on return at Windsor recently, typically racing freely. Needs to settle better if he's to progress again.

Won twice for John Gosden last year, and having been gelded, picked up the progressive thread when a head third of 17 to Foolaad over C&D on debut for new yard in March. May do better still, and can't be discounted.

Won over C&D on last year's return, and showed he could handle quicker ground by scoring at Haydock in July. Below that form twice subsequently, and needs to have improved to defy his current mark.

Two wins last year came on AW and heavy ground (Ayr Bronze Cup). Well beaten on his return at Ripon, and others have more to recommend them here,

Useful sprinter on his day, but yard is quiet at present, and he has been soundly beaten on both starts this season.

Forecasts

Jawwaal (3/1), Watchable (9/2), Embour (5/1), Beyond Equal (11/2), Naadirr (7/1), Muscika (8/1), Wahoo (11/1), Lucky Lucky Man (20/1), Boy In The Bar (40/1)

Verdict

WATCHABLE has quickly dropped to the mark he won this off a year ago, and with conditions ideal, he's taken to add to his CV at the expense of the quirky Naadirr, who is a different force here than he is elsewhere, and is not to be underestimated. Jawwaal was better than ever when a close third over C&D in March on debut for Michael Dods, and he should continue to run well.
