Solid and consistent in a number of starts at this venue since February before being rewarded with 6f win last month. Runs from 5lb higher mark now, which looks plenty demanding despite longer trip.

Cape Cross mare, twice won here in 2017 over 7f/1m, form through 2018 on turf/AW was very poor and makes little appeal now returning from 217-day break.

Won just two of 39 career starts and arrives here on a 22-race losing run. Sole AW success a 6f maiden here in 2016. Handicap mark is ever-decreasing but still facing tall order, seemingly.

Has had a good winter around here despite the handicapper's attentions. Proved soft ground to blame for latest tuff effort when runner-up over 7f here 16 days ago, solid claims with 10lb claimer up.

Declaration Of War colt, cost 30,000 gns as a yearling. Nothing of note in three career starts to date and unlikely to play a part in the finish on evidence to date.

Oasis Dream filly who is a half-sister to the very useful Carntop. Not much to shout about in a couple of starts for trainer Ralph Beckett last spring or since joining this yard. Makes AW/handicap bow so needs market check.

Has yet to get off the mark here in 14 starts despite hitting the frame on five occasions; latest when ½L second to Ken's Sam's nine days ago, form that makes here a player now.

Won as a juvenile for Jamie Osborne, but not clicked since for Bill Durkan or in four runs for current yard. Wide draw to overcome this evening.

Big Bad Bob mare is a half-sister to 6f winner Louis Leroy. Sent off at no less than 33-1 in four career starts to date, running accordingly on each occasion, including handicap bow here behind a couple of these (tenth). Eased 3lb, could do better.

Modest 52-rated handicapper for trainer Marjorie Fife winning four of his 21 starts on the AW. Two years since visiting the winners' enclosure and poor here last month on stable debut.

25-1 winner over C&D in October, career record reads 3-51 now (all three wins on the AW). Far from reliable, but runs some good races and will no doubt add to his tally at some stage.

6f winner here in November, just 2-28 on the AW but often runs well and capable of making the frame; only beaten 2L into fourth behind Ken's Sam's here recently. Trip fine.

Forecasts

Mulzamm (9/4), Ken's Sam's (3/1), Waitaki (11/2), Peddlers Pass (6/1), War Advocate (9/1), Haqeeba (9/1), Lord Cooper (12/1), Red All Star (14/1), Turn On The Tears (16/1), Arlecchino's Rock (16/1), Neyland (20/1), Timia (33/1)

Verdict

Recent winner Ken's Sam's is consistent and should go well again in this finale, despite a 5lb rise making things tougher. Haqeeba wasn't far behind her that evening and is likely to give her a race again but MULZAMM might grab this. Denis Hogan's gelding has been banging at the door since he won over a mile in March and the 10lb taken off his back by his claiming rider could tilt this in his direction.
  1. Mulzamm
  2. Ken's Sam's
  3. Haqeeba
