Thriving here this spring, winning three times under Oisin Orr, all over 1m2½f-1m4f. Had 5L in hand last time, for which he's been raised 10lb, but remains well worth considering dropped in trip, with rider staying faithful.
UK-import remains a maiden after nine runs on the Flat. Tried hurdles at Sligo last week to no good effect, but handicap mark in this sphere is tumbling enough to merits some interest.
Both career wins (2-10) have been here, including when justifying favouritism in February for slightly lower grade contest. Didn't quite seem to stay longer trip since, no forlorn hope back down in trip with 7lb claimed.
Maiden, struggled in three previous starts here, has been hurdling more recently, only showing glimpses of promise. Needs a career-best to get involved.
Filly scored over C&D in November off a mark of 45. Consistent since, including runner-up finish over a mile last month behind Silk Cravat, needs a bit more on these terms.
Mare is a three-time C&D winner in the past but has been struggling lately. Offered more when close fifth behind Lady Rosebud last time, rated to have every chance if building on that showing.
Poor strike rate (2-28), though was a C&D winner in March 2017 from 13lb higher mark. Out of form in four turf runs last year, warrants a betting check now back from a layoff.
Gained her fourth C&D win (fifth here overall) last month, getting up in dying embers. Couple of pounds higher now but should go well with Wayne Lordan taking over.
Camacho filly who usually flatters to deceive in here races as witnessed in a few of starts here since the turn of the year. Every chance last time in C&D claimer (33-1) but couldn't go on when required.
Forecasts
Wild Shot (13/8), Footsteps At Dawn (3/1), Masalai (9/2), Percy B Shelley (13/2), Lady Rosebud (7/1), Khabaray (14/1), The Perch (16/1), Poetic Choice (16/1), Pacific Fleet (16/1)
Having run up a hat-trick here recently, WILD SHOT is clobbered with a 10lb rise for his latest decisive score. He drops in trip and, while the handicapper may think he has him, Oisin Orr clearly doesn't. The excellent apprentice has been on one or two of the other likely protagonists recently, but stays faithful in this bid for a four-timer. After a fourth C&D win recently, Lady Rosebud goes on any shortlist alongside Poetic Choice, who wasn't far behind her. Masalai is another in good form while Pacific Fleet's rating is decreasing rapidly and he might take advantage soon.
- Wild Shot
- Lady Rosebud
